2. Installing Crystal Audio Drivers

1. Windows will detect the PCI Multimedia Audio Device and initiate the
Add New Hardware Wizard. Press the NEXT button to continue.
2. Select the 'Search for the best driver for your device' option and press
the NEXT button.
3. Select the CD-ROM drive (or the appropriate path to the location of
the driver files). Press the NEXT button.
4. The installation wizard will indicate that it is ready to install the
Crystal SoundFusion (tm) PCI Audio Accelerator Driver. Press the NEXT
button to continue.
5. Press the FINISH button to complete the installation.
6. For the driver to be loaded restart the Computer.

Special Driver Installation Requirements on Windows 2000
========================================================
Microsoft has put file protection for drivers in the newer builds of
Windows 2000. To get around the file protection and install the WDM
Inky driver you should perform the following steps.
· Disable file protection.
To disable the system file protection change the following
registry key. Section:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
Entry: SFCDisable Value: 0x00000001
· Remove the children of the SoundFusion driver using the
system properties panel.
· Remove the SoundFusion driver using the system properties panel.
· Remove all inf's that have cwcspud.sys in them.
(wdma_csf.inf and any oem*.inf's)
· Boot to dos using a windows 98 Boot disk.
Go to the Winnt\system32\drivers directory. Type "Del cwc*.sys"

3. Uninstalling or Updating Crystal Audio Drivers
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Driver Uninstallation procedures for Windows 98 and Windows 2000:
1. There is no setup.exe application with this driver. Hence, removing
the driver must be done through the Device Manager. This is done by
highlighting the main Crystal Soundfusion Device, and following the
procedures outlined below:
a. For Windows 98 - Press remove button in Device Manager.
b. For Windows 2000 - Do a right click on the Crystal Soundfusion
Device, and choose uninstall.

4. Known Problems and Limitations
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1· The Game Port will have a yellow flag whenever the Audio system is
behind PCI to PCI bridge (PCI Bus other than PCI Bus 0). Microsoft will
provide a fix for the Game Port bang out in DirectX 7.0
2· There is a change in MIDI tempo caused by changing volume when using
DSound applications.
3· Suspend and resume while playing a MIDI file causes noise.
4· There is some stuttering whenever the system is restarted while playing
a wave file.
5· There is some stuttering during the playback of wave files (using the
DSound buffer test application).
6. Prompt to restart when Input/Output configuration setting of Game Port
is changed.
7. Disabling and re-enabling certain devices may require a reboot to
complete the operation.
8. When reinstalling the Driver under Windows 2000, if the recommended
procedure was not followed, Regidtry problem will occur.

Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
