Before a network driver or an application like the diagnostic software can initialize and access the adapter from DOS, the adapter must be configured first with LANEN.EXE Command syntax, LANEN </option> where, /options are /HELP or /? for help on the command syntax /IOP:xxx is the keyword for IO base address of adapter <xxx> is the IO base address in hex digits. range: 200H to 3E0h in steps of 20H /IRQ:dd is the keyword for interrupt line of the adapter <dd> is the interrupt line number in hex or decimal digit(s) valid values are (in decimal): 3,4,5,7,9,10,11,12,15 or (in hex) : 3,4,5,7,9, A, B, C ,F e.g., to configure the adapter to use IO base address of 240H and use interrupt line number 10. The command entry should be, LANEN /IOP:240 /IRQ:10 This command can run from a batch file like the AUTOEXEC.BAT or the CONFIG.SYS file. e.g., of command enter in CONFIG.SYS file, Device=C:\TX16DIAG\LANEN /IOP:240 /IRQ:10 If you have card and socket services software loaded in the CONFIG.SYS file, make sure the enabler is run after immediately after these softwares. e.g., this example shows Phoenix card and socket services software Device=c:\...\EMM386.EXE x=c800-c8ff x=c900-ccff Device=c:\...\PCMSS.EXE Device=c:\...\PCMCS.EXE Device=c:\...\PCMSCD.EXE DEVICE=C:\...\LANEN.EXE /IOP:240 /IRQ:10 <==== added this line after card and socket services software. Also note that if EMM386.EXE is loaded, make sure to exclude the memory range as shown above. For more information consult your dealer. More information on other card and socket services are provided in, A:\PCMCIA directory.Download Driver Pack
