INTRODUCTION
------------
This file contains a variety of information you should read before 
installing the ALi mini-IDE driver.  ALi mini-IDE is a mini driver 
for Windows 2000/Xp. It is compliant to Microsoft in-box driver to 
tune running mode when device or system is unstable. It also helps 
Microsoft in-box driver to enable DMA mode of ATAPI devices 
(CD, CD-RW, DVD...) for older ALi chips.

  3. Execute "Setup.exe. to install ALi mini-IDE Driver

3. Uninstallation Instructions

  There are two ways to uninstall ALi mini-IDE driver 

  A. Run Setup.exe and select Uninstall ALi mini-IDE Driver
  B. Remove driver from Start->Setting->Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs

 (II) ALi IDE Cache and Utility 
*************************************

1. INTRODUCTION
---------------

  ALi IDE Cache and Utility is a driver about IDE device read ahead control. this 
driver is for Windows 95/Windows 98/Windows 98SE and Windows Millennium. 
  When read-ahead is enabled, the cache controller module will accordding to current
read-ahead buffer size and cache frequency access your hard disk to speed up access
performance. Installing ALi IDE Cache and Utility will enable DMA mode under Win9X 
and WinMe to enhance performance.

2. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

Windows 95:
  1. Microsoft Windows 95 OSR2.0 or later version.
  2. ALi Cache driver (alivxd.vxd).
Windows 98/98SE:
  1. Microsoft Windows 98/98SE.
  2. ALi Cache driver (alivxd.vxd).
Windows Millennium:
  1. Microsoft Windows ME
  2. ALi Cache driver (alivxd.vxd).

3. Uninstallation Instructions

Windows 95 and Windows 98/98SE/ME:
  1. Open "Control Panel" folder
  2. Invoke "Add\Remove Programs" icon
  3. Choose "ALi IDE Utility" item 
  4. Click on "Add/Remove" button to remove drivers.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
