NeoMagic NM6 WDM Audio Driver Installation Instructions:

1.  Click the Start button, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.


2.  In the Control Panel, double-click the Systems .


3.  Click the Hardware tab and then click Device Manager.


4.  Click View at the top of the screen, and then click Device by Type.


5.  Scroll down the list of installed devices and select Sound, video and game controllers. Click the (+) to 
    the left of the selection.


6.  Highlight and right-click NeoMagic MagicMedia 256+ AC97 Driver (WDM).


7.  On the drop-down menu, click Properties.


8.  At the NeoMagic MagicMedia 256+ AC97 Audio Driver (WDM) Properties window, click the Drivers tab.


9.  Click the Update Drivers button in the bottom right corner.


10. At the Update Device Driver Wizard window, click Next.


11. When NeoMagic MagicMedia 256+ AC97 Audio Driver (WDM) Properties appears on the screen, select Display a 
    list of the known drivers for this device so that I can choose a specific driver , and click Next.


12. Click Have Disk... and click Next.


13. Click Browse and select the location where the files were extracted and click OK. ** By default the files 
    are extracted to the C:\Dell\Drivers\N3WU folder.**


14. Highlight NeoMagic MagicMedia 256AV Audio Driver(WDM) and click Next. 


15. An Update Driver Warning window may appear. Choose Yes to continue. 


16. Choose Next to install the driver. The software will be installed for your device.


17. At the Completing the Upgrade Device Driver Wizard window, click Finish.


18. At the next screen, click Close.


19. When prompted to restart the system, click Yes.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
