            VIA VT6105 Rhine III Fast Ethernet Adapter Installation
                                for Windows ME

Introduction:
=============
  This document shows you how to setup the driver in Windows ME.

Installation:
=============
  Before starting with the installation process, make sure that the
  adapter is properly installed and configured.

  1.  After starting Windows ME, the windows will automatically detect
      new hardware, then the "Add New Hardware Wizard" window appears.

  2.  Insert the driver diskette into drive A.

  3.  Select "Specify the location of the driver(Advanced)", then click
      the "Next" button.

  4.  Select "Search for the best driver for your device.(Recommended)".
      Select "Specify a location:".
      Type A:\ into the box, then click the "Next" button.

  5.  Windows ME will start to search floppy drive for network driver,
      and Windows displays the message:

          "VIA VT6105 Rhine III Fast Ethernet Adapter".

      Click the "Next" button to install the driver for this device.

  6.  Windows ME starts to copy the drivers to the user's hard disk.

  7.  When windows has finished installing the new hardware device,
      click the "Finish" button.

  8.  Click the "Yes" button to restart the computer.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
