Before inserting your LanModem PC Card, the system's PCMCIA chipset must be enabled and functioning. The PCMCIA chipset is responsible for controlling the systems interface for PC Cards. Please consult the system's manual or manufacture for use with Windows 98. Multifunction PC Cards put a heavy demand on a system's resources. Please resolve all system conflicts, errors, and Windows 98 issues before installing the LanModem. Please have the installation media for the Windows 98 ready for any request for files. Getting Started ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ With the system off, remove all PC Cards Start/Boot Windows 98 Insert the LanModem into one of the system's PCMCIA Slots A "New Hardware Found" dialog box should appear, see troubleshooting if the dialog box doesn't appear. Select "Driver from disk provided by hardware manufacturer" Insert the LanModem driver disk in drive A: Type in the path name A:\ Because the device is multifunction, the system will repeat the "New Hardware Found" a few times. Please repeat the same steps for each request made by the system. The Window 98 PCMCIA installation will add Netware and Microsoft network support automatically. Any network support can be adjusted by the Network Support in the Control Panel. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
