If you want technical info about the VIA 6306 fire wire card Click Here to get the manual Note You must have PCI 2.2 on your motherboard, not PCI 2.1 or lower. 1. Click Here to download required file. 2. Turn off computer. 3. Remove Firewire Card from computer. 4. Turn computer back on. 5. Extract files from downloaded zip file to a temp location. 6. At temp location find file 1394.zip and extract it to CWindowsSystem32 (assuming standard windows installation) 7. Extract 1394.zip to second temp location. 8. At second temp location right click on all .inf files and select install. 9. Turn off computer. 10. Put firewire card back into computer (into a different PCI slot if you can) 11. Turn computer back on and pray that windows detects it and installs drivers. 12. Delete both temp locations. If these instructions don't work i'm sorry you had to do so much to end up the same way. Your PCI slot may be bad or the card may be bad. Who knows. Try going to the VIA Support Forums. or here http://www.nthelp.com/NT6/data_is_invalid.htm Note I have reason to believe that the following motherboards won't work with this firewire card ABIT BH6, Pentium III-450 CPU.
