SUMMARY

   File 05605031.EXE contains version 1.00.03.DMO of the Manhattan 
   D6200 and Presence Pro system flash BIOS.
      
   This issue applies to the following systems: 503223 and 503224.


CREATING THE DISKETTE

   Insert a 3.5" formatted 1.44MB diskette into drive A: and run
   the EXTRACT utility.  This will transfer the diskette image file
   to the floppy diskette.


USING THE SOFTWARE

   This is a menu-driven BIOS update. The following instructions 
   provide a two part process to update the BIOS.
   
   
   PART ONE 
   
   1: Insert the Manhattan D6200 BIOS update 
      diskette in drive A: and boot the system.
   
   2: The first screen will indicate Flash Memory
      Update Utility Release 3.2. Press the [Enter] 
      key to continue.
   
   3: The Main Menu dialog box will appear: Select 
     
         Update Flash Memory Area from a file.
   
   4: The Update Flash Area dialog box will appear:
      Select
   
          Update System BIOS + User Area.
   
   5: The Enter Path/Filename dialog box will 
      appear: Press the [TAB] key which highlights 
      the file listed under the Files: section. An 
      example of a file name is: IP03DM0.BIO.  Press 
      the [Enter] key after highlighting the file.
   
   6: The next screen will display the Verify Image
      dialog box. It will state: "The following 
      Flash Data File has been successfully loaded. 
      If this is the correct file for loading into 
      Flash Memory then select [Conntinue].
   
      Warning: Continuing will destroy the current  
      contents of this Flash memory area!!
   
      Data Image Title:     IPXXDMO_-Production
      Timestamp:            01/09/97 - 19:09
      BIOS Reserved String  1.00.03 DMO {version of
                            BIOS}
   
      Continue with programming.
   
      Highlight the above "Continue with          
      programming" option and press the [Enter] key.
   
   7: The following message will appear:
      Re-programming of the system Flash memory has 
      completed successfully.  Reboot or reset the  
      system now for the changes to take effect.
      Press the [Enter] key. The system will reboot 
      showing the new version of BIOS as it boots.
   
   
   PART TWO  
   
   The AST Banner will display on the screen after following this 
   process. 
   
   1: Follow steps 1 & 2 from above.  At step 3, 
      select
   
             Update User Data Area.
   
   2: At the Enter Path /Filename dialog box, press
      the [Tab] key to highlight the file: 
     
             AST_UB.USR
   
      Press the [Enter] key.
   
   3: At the Verify Image dialog box, a warning  
      message will appear similar to Part One's step
      6 message.  Select
   
          Continue with programming.
   
   4: A message will appear indicating that the 
      re-programming has completed successfully.    
      (See Part One, step 7.) Press the [Enter] key.
   
   The system will reboot showing the current version of BIOS as 
   well as the AST LOGO.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
