SUMMARY

   File 14901031.EXE contains version 1.31 a of the Cirrus GD5446 
   video drivers for Windows NT 3.5x and 4.0, release 1.00. This 
   diskette is part of the Premium GS accessory kit. It contains  
   drivers for the Cirrus GD5446 video chip for Windows NT 3.5a and 
   4.0.
      
   This software applies to the following systems: 503447 and 
   503453.


CREATING THE DISKETTE

   Insert a 3.5" formatted 1.44MB diskette into drive A: and run
   the EXTRACT utility.  This will transfer the diskette image file
   to the floppy diskette.


USING THE SOFTWARE

   1. Select Control Panel from the Main group. 
   
   2. Select the Display icon.
   
   3. Select Change Display Type.
   
   4. Select Change from the Adapter Type area.
   
   5. Select Other.
   
   6. Place the Windows NT 4.0 Installation Disk 
      into Drive A.
   
      NOTE: In the Models window it will display 
      the following:
   
       Cirrus Logic CL-GD54xx Graphics Adapter
   
   7. Select Install and click "Yes" when the 
      Installing Driver dialog box appears.
   
   8. When the Windows NT Setup dialog box appears, 
      select drive A:, and click "Continue".
   
   In the above steps the following should be noted:
   
   A message will appear stating that the drivers were successfully 
   installed.  Click "OK". You must now restart Windows NT 4.0.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
