SUMMARY

   File 05574035.EXE contains version 1.04, disk 1 of 1, of the 
   Bravo LC 5100/5133/5166 system BIOS. This update applies to the 
   following systems: 501958, 501959, 501961, 501979, and 503031.

   
RESOLUTIONS

   Version 1.04 resolves the following issues:
   
   Fixed the CD-ROM detecting issue after CMOS is corrupted.
   
   Fixed the resource allocation issue between PCI and onboard ISA 
   devices.
   
   Fixed the issue of detecting Plug-and-Play printers in ECP mode.
   
   
   Fixed the Western Digital Phoenix drivers issue where the drive's 
   firmware did not handle the SET MULITPLE command correctly.
   
   Fixed the issue with video cards that failed at POST 63.
   
   Fixed the 3COM card issue which showed memory failure caused by 
   the bus mastering continuing at warm boot.   


ENHANCEMENTS

   Release 1.04 contained the following enhancement:
   
   Added support for the year 2000 in the BIOS function call.

   Release 1.03 contained the following resolutions and 
   enhancements:
   
   The system hung when the Shuttle Pocket Adapter installation 
   program tried to sense the parallel port if the parallel port was 
   set to Enhanced mode in Setup.
   
   The BIOS reported POST error 12.31 if both floppy drive types 
   were set to None and the onboard floppy adapter was set to 
   Add-in, but an add-in floppy controller was not installed.
   
   The system was unable to boot from floppy if the SMC network card 
   (with remote boot ROM) was configured in the system.
   
   The system experienced a spin-up timeout problem with Western 
   Digital's 2.1GB hard drive, model number WD32100.
   
   Improved the IDE drive detection logic.
   
   Added a parity field in BIOS Setup if parity was ENABLED.
   
   Supported L2 cache larger than 256KB.
   
   Allowed the system to boot when a parity error was found during 
   memory test.
   
   Added suspend mode support in Advanced Power Management.

   Release 1.02 contained the following resolutions and 
   enhancements:
   
   Fixed the year 2000 issue.  The date was not reported correctly 
   when it changed from year 1999 to year 2000.
   
   Fixed the issue where the number of heads of IDE drives was not 
   reported correctly in SETUP on WD 32500.
   
   Added system BIOS part number field in SETUP.
   
   
   Previous releases also contained the following issue resolutions 
   and enhancements:
   
   Fixed the issue reporting CPU speed in CommandCenter.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
