Known Bugs and Operating Notes ------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Overview This disk contains the ELSA Display Driver for Microsoft Windows 95 and Windows 98. The drivers support 256, 32768 and 16 Million colors in all resolutions available on used ELSA graphics board. Microsoft DirectX is supported by an integrated DirectDraw/Direct3D HAL. ------------------------------------------------------------------- 2. Contents The directory contains the following files: README.TXT the file you currently look at LIESMICH.TXT german version of this file VERSION.TXT version info about driver and tools ELSAGLL.CAB display driver WINMAN.CAB property page ELSA Settings ELSAG3D.INF Installation file for GLoria devices ELSAGLL.INF Installation file for driver and tools In case of trouble during or after installation, please make sure you have all the files mentioned above! ------------------------------------------------------------------- 3. Installation 3.1 Installing ELSA graphics board for Windows 95 Remove your "old" VGA adapter and put the ELSA graphics board into your computer. On startup Windows 95 will detect three devices. The first one is a "CO Prozessor CPU". Windows prompts for a manufacturer disk. Plaese browse through the ELSA CD and select the display driver subdirectory matching to your graphics adapter(eg.GLORIA\XXL\WIN9x) Windows installs the device. Thereafter Windows detects the second device. You have to do the same steps again. Now Windows have to be rebooted. During the next restart Windows detects the third device. Follow the steps descibed above. Windows prompt you to reboot the computer. After restarting, Windows is running with the ELSA display drivers active. Known Bugs and Operating Notes This section documents known anomalies or problems and gives hints on work arounds. 5.1 Version 4.10.01.0203-0009 5.1.1 Changing color depth with QuickRes If QuickRes changes the color depth without restarting Windows, sometime you can see drawing errors. QuickRes patches (!) the display driver, so the driver can no longer work properly. 5.1.2 Display errors with DirectX Applications using DirectX could cause display errors when DirectX version I or II is installed. Please install DirectX version 5 to solve this problems. You will find this version of DirectX on the WINNERware CD in the directory MSAPPS\DIRECTX5. ------------------------------------------------------------------------Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
