Installation is the same as Windows 3.1
============================================================================
Section 3. WINDOWS 95
============================================================================
To install the I/O 650 Drivers and Configuration program
follow these steps:
NOTE: In Windows 95, you MUST install the drivers BEFORE
installing the adapter board.
1. Insert the IO650 driver diskette into your A: (or B:)
drive.
2. From the Start Button, select Run..., and type A:SETUP
(or B:SETUP).
3. Setup launches both the 'New Hardware Wizard' and a
installation instruction window. Follow all instructions on
screen. For step 7, select '2 port 16650 card'.
Use the COM PORT properties dialog box from the Device
Manager tab in the system applet of the control panel. There
you can select the desired settings for the IO650. With Baud
Mapping turned off, the baud rate you select will be the
baud rate used. The following section describes what happens
when you turn baud mapping on.
============================================================================
Section 4. BAUD MAPPING.
============================================================================
Baud mapping allows older applications to operate at baud
rates that are not usually supported by an application. For
example, if the highest baud rate that your application
supports is 115200, then you can can turn baud mapping on to
operate at higher speeds. When baud mapping is turned on,
the I/O 650 multiplies the requested baud rate by four.
Selecting a baud rates of 57600 actually becomes 230kbaud,
and selecting 115200 actually produces 460kbaud.
See the user manual for more details on 'baud mapping'.
