for the 3Com Megahertz LAN PC Card Family
WinCE 2.0 Information
You can use the following Windows CE Hand-held PCs
with the LAN PC Card:
Cassiopeia Model # A11 & A20 (SH3)
LG Phenom (SH3)
Sharp Mobilon Model # HC4100 (MIPS)
Phillips Velo Model # 500 (MIPS)
Compaq C-Series (MIPS)
NEC MobilePRO 750C (MIPS)
These hand-held PCs can browse the Internet but
cannot connect to the network like a full service
PC connects. This PC Card supports
Windows CE 2.0 network functionality only.
To connect the LAN PC Card and install the driver,
follow these steps:
1. Establish a connection between the hand-held PC
and a Windows 98, Windows 95, or Windows NT PC
using a serial cable.
2. Insert the Windows CE CD in your CD-ROM drive.
3. Click Start and then click Run in the task bar.
3. Insert LAN Installation Disk 1 in drive a:
and type:
a:\win_ce\setup.exe
Setup guides you through the 3c589 series driver
and components installation. Setup.exe is located
in the WIN_CE directory.
4. Wait until the installation is complete.
5. Do a warm reset on your hand-held PC and plug
in the LAN PC Card in the PCMCIA slot of the
hand-held PC.
6. Type Yes when prompted to use the PC Card.
7. Complete the TCP/IP configuration when prompted.
8. Remove LAN Installation Disk and restart the
hand-held PC.
Installation is complete.

Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
