		Notes on Novell Subdirectory Organization
-------------------------------------------------------------------

There are several subdirectories for the Novell NetWare environment:
\NOVELL\DOSODI, \NOVELL\OS2ODI, \NOVELL\SRVODI and \NOVELL\NIF.

These subdirectories contain the Novell NetWare ODI drivers for
NetWare server and client environments. The directories are 
organized as follows:

\DOSODI

   This directory contains the following files:

   README.TXT   - Explicit NetWare DOS ODI client driver 
		  installation instructions.
   DE500.COM    - NetWare DOS ODI client driver.
   DE500.INS    - Driver installation file used by NetWare 3.12/4.X 
		  DOS ODI client installation utility (INSTALL.BAT) 
		  to install and configure the NetWare DOS ODI 
		  client driver.
   NET.CFG      - Sample ODI driver control and configuration file.
   NOVFILES.EXE - Novell client files used by the adapter 
		  installation program.

\OS2ODI

   This directory contains the following files:

   README.TXT   - Explicit NetWare OS/2 ODI client driver 
		  installation instructions. 
   DE500.SYS    - NetWare OS/2 ODI client driver.
   NET.CFG      - Sample configuration file.

\SRVODI

   This directory contains the following files:

   README.TXT   - Explicit NetWare 3.12/4.1x ODI server driver 
		  installation instructions.
   DE500.LAN    - NetWare ODI server driver that works on both 
		  NetWare 3.12 and NetWare 4.1x servers.
   DE500.LDI    - Driver installation file used by NetWare 4
		  installation utility (INSTALL.NLM) to install and 
		  configure the NetWare 3.12/4.1x ODI server driver.
   MSM.NLM      - Novell Media Specific Module for NetWare 4.
   ETHERTSM.NLM - Novell Ethernet Topology-Specific Module that is 
		  loaded prior to loading the server driver.
   NBI.NLM      - Novell NetWare Bus Interface module which provides 
		  additional bus support for NetWare 4.
   ODIDE500.INF - Installation file used to install the server 
		  driver with Windows 95 under NetWare Client32.
   ODIDE500.TXT - Explicit instructions to install the server driver
		  with Windows 95 under NetWare Client 32.

   This directory contains one subdirectory:

	\3_12   - Files for installing and configuring the NetWare 
		  3.12/4.1x ODI server driver in NetWare 3.12 servers.
	
\NIF         
   DE450.OIF    - ODI client setup file used with Pathworks.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
