Windows 98 Introduction: ------------- This document shows you how to setup the driver and how to use the enhanced functions by setting the custom keywords. Location of Driver: \WIN98\LNICND.SYS Contents of the Subdirectory: ----------------------------- LNICND.SYS The NDIS5.1 driver for Windows 98. NETLNIC5.INF The installation information file. Installation: ------------- Before starting with the installation process, make sure that the adapter is properly installed and configured. 1.When you plug the LNIC-10/100A Series in the mother board and power on the Windows 98, the 'Add New Hardware Wizard' window will prompt and says that The wizard search for new driver for: PCI Ethernet Controller 2.In the 'Add New Hardware Wizard' window,click 'Next' then it will ask you 'What do you want Windows to do?'. Choose the item that Search for the best driver for your device (Recommended) Click 'Next'. 3.In the 'Add New Hardware Wizard' window, put the driver disk in the floppy drive and Specify the path of the driver path i.e. 'A:\WIN98' in combo list and click 'NEXT'. 4.There will show 'A:\WIN98\NETLNIC5.INF' in the Location of driver field for the device 'LG LNIC-10/100A Series Fast E-NET Card' in the 'Add New Hardware Wizard' window. Click 'Next'. 5.Specify the path of the driver files i.e A:\WIN98, then the Windows will copy the necessary files for the driver and system files. Click 'Finish'. 6.If this is your first time to install the Ethernet adapter and have not install the protocols and clients for Microsoft and Netware, please do NOT restart the computer. Go to the Start\Settings\Control and double-click the Network icon to install the other necessary files for the network operation. Windows 98 will ask you Do you want to restart your computer now?, Click 'Yes' to restart the Windows 98.Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
