Installation Procedure of NDC SOHOware PCMCIA/ND51XX for Linux
--------------------------------------------------------------------

The SOHOware PCMCIA/ND51XX-E does not supply Linux Driver.
But, you can use the built-in NE2000 compatible driver coming within
the Linux to enable it. Please be reminded we do not officially support
the driver that is not released by NDC.

To install the PCMCIA devices, you have to previously enable the
PCMCIA service of your Linux system. For example, if you are using
the RedHat, you may check the /etc/sysconfig/pcmcia file to ensure
that you enable the PCMCIA service. (Please refer to the
PCMCIA-Howto file in your Linux Source File first.

After the PCMCIA service is enabled, please follow the following
steps to install the driver:

  a. Change to /usr/src/linux directory.

  b. Run "make menuconfig"

  c. Go into the "Network Device Support" and select the
"NE2000/NE1000 support" option. Save the change and exit.

  d. Now rebuild your kernel by using the following command:
' make dep; make clean; make zImage '
The file 'zImage' will be found at the linux directory
     ' /usr/src/linux/arch/i386/boot/zImage '

  e. Modify /etc/lilo.conf to set the new path of kernel image,
zImage, as usual this file will specify where kernel image is.

  f. Run " lilo " to install the new boot loader.

  g. Reboot your linux system.

  h. You may use "netconf" command to configure your network
     setting.
