(IV) Application notes and tips
===============================

Windows 95
----------

1. Do not select "Update font to printer at startup system" when using a network printer.

2. When printing complicated documents, the printer time out may cause the document not to be printed correctly. If this happens, set Resolution to 300dpi and/or the Spool Setting to "Start printing after last page is spooled" and/or change the IO timeout on the printer (max. 300 seconds).

3. When printing at 600dpi with WordPerfect 7.0, printed font sizes may not be correct. If this happens, print at 300dpi instead.

4. Word 7.0 with Graphics mode set to Raster may not print arrow objects correctly. To solve this problem, switch Graphics mode to HP-GL/2.

5. Selecting Spool Type as EMF may cause some applications not to print well in HP-GL/2 mode. If this happens, return the Spool Type setting to RAW.

6. When you change the printer properties from WordPad, changes will not be reflected in the print job immediately following the change.

7. Even when "Print all text as black" is selected, characters rendered using "Gradation Management" will not be printed all in black.

8. Complicated images may take a long time to print when using Corel Draw 7.0 in HP-GL/2 mode. For faster printing, choose Raster mode instead.

9. Very fine lines may not be printed well with Access 97. For better results, select HP-GL/2.

10. To print multiple copies from MS-Project 4.0, set the number of copies setting in the application print dialog box to 1, then specify the number of copies using the printer driver Copies setting.

11. When using PowerPoint 95, graphics may be printed as same color even if a color on the foreground is different from the background.

12. When using Overlay printing with WordPad, overlay data may not be printed. If this happens, switch TrueType mode to "Print as graphics".

13. When using with MS-Works 4.0, some colors on the graph are printed as black.

14. When using with MS-Project 4.1, the interval of the stripe pattern may not print as they appear on your computer screen. If this happens, change the Graphics mode or the Resolution.

15. When changing settings in General or Details tab dialog, please make sure of driver settings before the driver is closed.

Windows 3.1
-----------

1. When using Letter Gothic(TrueType) font with WordPerfect 6.1, characters are not printed correctly.

2. When using non-standard fonts with WordPerfect 6.1, decorative characters are not printed correctly. If you wish to use decorative characters, only use standard Windows fonts.

3. When printing complicated documents, the printer time out may cause the document not to be printed correctly. If this happens, set Resolution to 300dpi and/or set "Use Print Manager" to on and/or change the IO timeout on the printer (max. 300 seconds).

Windows 3.1 & 95
----------------

1. PageMaker 6.0 shifts the image by about an inch with 8x13, 8.25x13 and 8.5x13 paper sizes. To solve this problem, print using a different paper size.

2. Documents that contain fonts not installed on your computer will not be printed correctly. Make sure your document only contains fonts installed on your computer.

3. When using the HP-GL/2 setting, graphic images may not print as they appear on your computer screen. If this happens, select the Raster setting and reprint your graphic images.

4. When the Copies set on the driver, the value may not override in the application print dialog box.

5. If you download a lot of fonts in one operation, they may not be downloaded correctly. Please download fonts one by one.

6. To avoid problems in general, make sure that there is plenty of free disk space.

7. If you download fonts that are not TrueType as permanent fonts, they may not be printed correctly. Download these fonts as temporary to avoid this problem.

8. If you installed fonts with Font Installer, you should delete the font directory(the default is C:\PCLFONTS).

9. The overlay data are listed with the same name if they are registered with the same name and stored in different drive/directories.

(V) Resolved problems and changed features
===========================================

Resolved problems
-----------------

1. In HP-GL/2 mode, large texture-filled areas may not be printed correctly.

2. Empty message dialog is displayed when click on "Delete Overlay" button after "Load Overlay" is canceled.

3. When all overlay files are deleted, "Delete Overlay" button is not grayed out.

4. Open inactive window to confirm download page overlay when enable "Query Page Overlay".

5. At the time of Graphics mode = HP-GL/2, a white line goes into the character with Illustrator 7.0.

Changed features
-----------------

1. Change the procedure to install and delete the driver.

2. Add "Browse" button in Add Fonts dialog which is displayed when installing fonts from the Font Installer.
