READ-DOS.TXT Driver File Contents (KANGUROOPCMCIACD-ROM.zip)

4.	Software Installation for Users of Dos/Windows 3.x (DO NOT LOAD IF YOU ARE RUNNING WIN95/98)

Step 1: Insert the drivers diskette into your A: drive
Step 2: Type “A:\drivers\dos\dosHD.bat <enter>” from the DOS prompt

This will load the drivers Stidehd.sys and PCMI80CL.sys into your config.sys file.
You will need to reboot the PC after this program has finished.

Step 3: Connect the power cable to the KangauruAdapter/KanguruPortable (as described previously)
Plug the end of the power cable into the back/side of the KangauruAdapter/KanguruPortable, and the other end into a surge protected power strip.

Step 4: Insert the PC card

Now, when you reboot your PC, the drivers added to your config.sys file will access the drive.

5.	Creating a Boot Diskette for Dos Access
If you plan to gain access to your KanguruDisk/KanguruPortable PCMCIA drive from a boot floppy you need to first create a Startup Disk for Windows 95/98.

Step 1: Creating your Startup Disk
1.	Put a blank formatted floppy disk into your floppy drive
2.	Go to control panel “Add Remove Programs”
3.	Click on the Start Up Disk tab to proceed
4.	Label your diskette appropriately

Step 2: Adding the PCMCIA DOS drivers to the config.sys file of the Start Up Disk
1.	With your Start Up Floppy still in the Floppy Drive, click on Start, Run and type in the run line: edit a:\config.sys
2.	Scroll down to the common area and add the following lines:
	DEVICE=A:\KHD\PCMI80CL.SYS /Q0
	DEVICE=A:\KHD\stidehdd.SYS
3.	Save and exit the edit program and close the dos window
4.	Now create a folder on your startup diskette and name it KHD
5.	Remove your startup diskette and insert the KD451 drivers diskette that came with your product
6.	Open Windows Explorer and double click on the a: drive to access the diskette
7.	Double click on the drivers folder, double click on the DOS folder and while holding your control key down on your keyboard single click on the PCMI80CL.SYS and STIDEHDD.SYS files to highlight them both
8.	Right click in the highlighted area of the files and select COPY
9.	Remove the drivers diskette and re-insert your startup diskette
10.	From within Windows Explorer, double click on the a: drive to access the floppy and right click on the a:\KHD folder and select paste to copy the driver files to your startup diskette

Now, when you plug in your KanguruDisk or KanguruPortable to the PCMCIA socket and boot using this diskette, it will access your drive.
