Files are compressed in .ZIP or self-extract .EXE format. Save the .ZIP
or .EXE to your local drive, decompress it to a temporary directory,
for .ZIP file, an unzip utility such as PKUNZIP or WINZIP ir needed and
they can be donloaded from www.shareware.com.

2. FIRMWARE Update:

Modem Firmware, binary modem control code resided in the Modem Flash
Memory, can be replaced with the new code using Flash utility.
Be cautious with the modem flashing process since it may become
unusable if it is not done properly.

3. DRIVERS:

Software interface between the device and Operating System.

Windows 95, 98 and NT4.0 provide generic serial modem drivers. However,
the modem drivers need be installed with proper script .INF file.

The Serial Wave Device Driver allows your application to use the modem
Voice feature, such as Voice Mail and SpeakerPhone. For very early
Windows 95, MicroSoft UNIMODEMV API need be installed.

Windows 3.1x as well as NT3.x and DOS do not provide any MODEM DRIVER.
The application software must access the modem directly. Refer to the
AT Commands or S-Registers listed in the Hardware User Manual to change
the modem initialization string.

The Windows 3.1x provide a Communication Port Driver with a maximum
port rate of 19.2Kbps. The application software running under Windows
3.1x usually provide an updated COMM driver to achieve a higher
transfer rate.
