After installation, set up the printer configuration in your printer driver. From the Printer Properties of the printer you have just installed, click the [Setup] tab, and then click [Configure Printer]. - When bi-directional support is on, clicking [Configure Printer] queries the printer for its configuration (installed options and physical paper settings in trays) and the [Setup - Configure Printer] dialog box opens with the printer configuration settings shown dimmed. - When bi-directional support is off, clicking [Configure Printer] opens the [Setup - Configure Printer] dialog box for configuring the settings manually. Use the [Option Selection] list box to select the optional tray and sorter unit. If the optional tray is selected, set the paper size and direction. Click [OK] to close the dialog box. Click [OK] to close the printer's Properties dialog box. (2) Cautions - IPDL-C printer drivers [RC-210] that differ from this version are not compatible. Therefore, you need to delete the previous version before installing another version. - After installing the printer driver, if the screen of the printer driver seems unusual, delete the printer driver and re-install. - Do not remove the CD-ROM when installing the printer driver. [3] Limitations and cautions for the printer driver (1) Limitations and cautions for the application settings *Adobe PageMaker 6.0/6.5 A paper size that you selected in [Document Defaults...] is not supported for printing. Please set the same paper size in both [Document Defaults...] and [Property] in the printer driver. *Lotus Freelance 97 Please set it up from [Properties] in the printer tab before starting Lotus Freelance, and then you can print. *All applications - When printing, the number of copies between the application and the printer driver is sometimes different. Please make sure that you set up the same number of copies in both the application and the printer driver. - The Collate settings in the application and the printer driver are not synchronized. Please set up Collate from the printer driver. - You cannot change settings in the [Configure Printer] from an application. To change the settings, you must open the printer [Properties] from the Control Panel. (2)Limitation and cautions for printing from applications *Adobe Photoshop/Adobe PageMaker Depending on the data, monochrome printing may occur even if you selected [Color] in [Color mode] of [Properties]. Please do not check [Change data processing] in [Properties] when printing. *Adobe Acrobat Reader 3.0 Depending on the data, the font outline may not print. In this case, check [Change data processing] when printing. *Adobe Acrobat Reader With some versions of Adobe Acrobat Reader, the data of a print job will be transferred to the printer driver as Portrait data regardless of the original shown on the display, or the printer driver settings. This may cause unexpected results for Layout print, Duplex print and Overlay print. *Adobe PageMaker 6.0/6.5 - A paper size that you selected on [Document Defaults...] is not supported for printing. Please set the same a paper size in both [Document Defaults...] and [Properties] in the printer driver. - Printing with A6, B6, B5, Hagaki, 8 1/2 x 13in, 8 1/4 x 13in, 8 x 13in and 12 x 18in document sizes causes the print to differ from the display. - When selecting either [Standard] or [Fast] in the drop-down list [Image Data] in property sheet [Quality Setting], image data may print with low-grade as a result. Click [High Quality] for image printing. *Microsoft Word 97 Depending on the page border style, the document may not print correctly. *Microsoft Excel 97 Depending on the data cell being painted, some patterns with color may not print correctly. In this case, check [Change data processing] when printing. *Microsoft Access If you select [EMF] for Spool data format in [Details] in the printer [Properties] for printing, the document may not print. In this case, select [Spool Settings] on the [Properties] as a default, then print it. *Quark Xpress If you select [Standard] or [Fast] in [Image Data] of [Quality Setting] with an outline style of fonts, a mis-print may occur. In this case, please select [High Quality] in [Image Data] when printing. *Lotus Approach 97 Depending on the data, a lack of typography on the edge of the paper may occur when selected in drop-down list [EMF] for Spool data format in [Details] in the printer [Properties]. In this case, select [RAW] or [Restore Defaults]. *Corel Draw 8 Depending on the data, the picture on the data may not print. *Macromedia FreeHand 8 Depending on the data, some patterns may not print correctly. In this case, check [Print as Bitmap] when printing. *Microsoft PowerPoint 97/95/4.0 , Adobe Illustrator 7.0/4.1 - If you want to use an overlay image made with these applications, you need to use the "Send to back" setting with the printer driver. - If you print a document from these application with an overlay image, you need to use the "Bring to front" setting with the printer driver. *Adobe Illustrator 8.0 When saving overlay data or overlay printing, don't check [Bitmap print] on the application print setting. If the box of [Bitmap print] is checked, overlay printing will not print correctly. *Microsoft Excel When selecting multiple sheets and printing "Active sheet(s)", or when printing "Entire workbook", each sheet of the file may be printed separately according to the print setting of each sheet. For example, following results may be seen: - [Finishing] Collate, Stack, Staple settings may be applied to each sheet individually, if each sheet has different settings. - [Overlay] When "Clear after one job" check box is selected, Overlay may not be done with the second sheet and after. *All applications - Depending on the application, a mis-print may sometimes happen. In this case, check [Change data processing] when printing. On the other hand, sometimes typography may not print correctly with [Change data processing] checked in [Properties]. Normally, it is not necessary to check [Change data processing] when printing. Depending on the data, typography may not print correctly. In this case, check [Print as Bitmap]. Printing will take longer however. So, please check it only when a mis-print occurs. If job resetting occurs when printing with checking [Print as Bitmap], select [Off] for [I/O Timeout] in the operation panel setting of the printer. A mis-print may happen even if you checked [Print as Bitmap] depending on the data. Normally, it is unnecessary to check [Print as Bitmap]. - When scaling on Enlarge/Reduce, the format of the document sometimes changes. - The border in the gradation area may look like a thin line. - Thin lines with color may be hard to see. In this case, check [CAD] in [Print Quality], or select [Thin Lines] in the drop-down list [Dithering] in [Color Setting] of [Print Quality-Custom-Setting / Change] dialog box. - When printing with overlay images, the data created in an application and overlaying data should be same in [Doc. Size], [Orientation] and [Color mode] on the [Setup] tab and [Resolution] on the [Print Quality] tab, if they differ in these settings, Overlay printing will not print correctly. - Overlay images created by other printers are not available for overlay printing. - Depending on the display driver, a mis-print sometimes happens. - If you use a device driver related with the printer into the config.sys file, the document may not print correctly. - Depending on the data and/or OS, a general protection error, system error, or application error may occur. - A part of the image may not print correctly. - The Date/Time shown on the Job Log/Job History refers to the Date/Time of your computer. - When the printer is connected through a Centronics parallel port, if you cancel a job from the spooler, the job may remain in the spooler window as a "canceling" job for long time. This is not a problem. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
