The driver (FastNIC.SYS) conforms to the Network Driver Interface
Specification (NDIS) 3.1, and used with Microsoft Windows 95, Windows 95 OSR2.

A) Installing NDIS 3 Miniport driver on Microsoft Windows 95
============================================================
  1. Plug Fast Ethernet Controller Provider's FastNIC PCI adapter into one 
     of the Master PCI slots of your PCI platform.

  2. Turn ON the power of PC then boot from Windows 95.

  3. Windows 95 will prompt "PCI Ethernet Controller" in "New Hardware Found"
     dialog box.

  4. Select "Driver from disk provided by hardware manufacturer" from 
     "New Hardware Found" dialog box, then click OK button.

  5. Insert the Fast Ethernet Controller Provider FastNIC Adapter Driver 
     Diskette in your floppy drive.

  6. Enter the driver pathname, i.e. A:\WIN95 (or B:\WIN95), then click OK 
     button from "Install from Disk" dialog box.

  7. Following the screen's prompt to insert "Windows 95 CD-ROM" and click
     OK button from "Insert Disk" dialog box.

  8. Otherwise enter the full pathname of the "Windows 95 CD-ROM" installation
     files in "Copying Files..." dialog box, then click OK button.

  9. Windows 95 will copy the driver (FastNIC.SYS) from A:\WIN95 to 
     C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory and the FastNIC.INF file from A:\WIN95 to 
     C:\WINDOWS\INF directory.

 10. Remove the Fast Ethernet Controller Provider FastNIC Adapter Driver 
     Diskette from your floppy drive.

 11. Restart your computer to take effect the network function.


NOTICE!!
  C:\WINDOWS is the directory where your Windows 95 O.S. is located.


B) Installing NDIS 3 Miniport driver on Microsoft Windows 95 OSR2
=================================================================
  1. Plug Fast Ethernet Controller Provider's FastNIC PCI adapter into one 
     of the Master PCI slots of your PCI platform.

  2. Turn ON the power of PC then boot from Windows 95.

  3. Windows 95 will prompt "PCI Ethernet Controller" in "New Hardware Found"
     dialog box and "Update Device Driver Wizard" dialog box.

  4. Insert the Fast Ethernet Controller Provider FastNIC Adapter Driver 
     Diskette in your floppy drive.

  5. Click "Next" button from "Update Device Driver Wizard" dialog box.

  6. Click "Other location" button from "Update Device Driver Wizard" dialog
     box.

  7. Type "A:\Win95" from "Select other location".

  8. Windows 95 will prompt "PCI 10/100 Fast Ethernet Adapter" in 
     "Update Device Driver Wizard" dialog box.

  9. Click "Finish" button from "Update Device Driver Wizard" dialog box.

 10. Click OK button when the screen prompt following message;
       "Please insert 'PCI 10/100 Fast Ethernet Adapter Driver Diskette'"

 11. Enter the full pathname "A:\WIN95" of the FastNIC.INF file, then click 
     OK button from "Copying Files..." dialog box.

 12. Following the screen's prompt to insert "Windows 95 CD-ROM" and click OK
     button from "Insert Disk" dialog box.

 13. Windows 95 will copy the driver(FastNIC.SYS) from A:\WIN95 to 
     C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory and the FastNIC.INF file from A:\WIN95 to
     C:\WINDOWS\INF directory.
 
 14. Remove the Fast Ethernet Controller Provider FastNIC Adapter Driver 
     Diskette from your floppy drive.

 15. Restart your computer to take effect the network function.

C) Configuring NDIS 3 Miniport driver on Microsoft Windows 95(OSR2)
===================================================================
  1. Click the "My Computer" icon in the Main Program Group.

  2. Click the "Control Panel" icon from My Computer window.

  3. Click the "Network" icon from the Control Panel window.

  4. Select "PCI 10/100 Fast Ethernet Adapter" item from "Network" dialog 
     box, then click "Properties" button.

  5. Click "Advanced" button from "PCI 10/100 Fast Ethernet Adapter" dialog 
     box.

  6. Select the Media Type value (AutoDetect, 10BaseT, 10BaseT Full_Duplex,
     100BaseTX, 100BaseTX Full_Duplex) from "Value" item, then click OK button
     from "PCI 10/100 Fast Ethernet Adapter Properties" dialog box.

  7. Click OK button from "Network" dialog box.

  8. Restart your computer to take effect the new configuration.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
