FOUND: SIS 7001 PCI to USB Open Host Controller Driver

Hi everybody,

I am running a 2.4 GHz Intel Celeron on a MSI W6533SMS Motherboard, onboard Realtek RTL8139(A) Lan (not used) onboard Realtek AC'97 audio, SiS 651 onboard display adapter, SoftK56 internal modem, 96MB memory (to be upgraded as soon as possible), 52/24/52 CD Rewriter. I mainly use it to do bookkeeping for my small business, and to play Spider Solitaire ;-). My operating system is Windows ME 4.90.3000. On-board I have 2 front and 2 rear USB 2.0 ports, running from the SiS7001 open host controller, hardware version 015. After searching EVERYWHERE on the web, contacting the motherboard distributor in South Africa AND E-mailing MSI, I finally found the following on the MSI Website (www.MSI.com.tw): USB2.0 Driver, Version 2.1.2.1, provided by OrangeWare Corporation. Originally it was not there (probably off-line or retracted due to a virus?) Anyways, it seems to be working OK, I do not have to reinstall a driver everytime I want to use my Hewlett-Packard psc1110 All-In-One printer/scanner. It still shows a green question mark, but at least that annoying yellow triangle with the exclamation mark is gone! I hope this driver will help you out, please let me know by e-mailing me at jacosteyn@yahoo.co.uk or gypsybaron@telkomsa.net and if it works for you, please post it on the message board, as I have seen a lot of requests for this driver. I have converted it to a zip file, unzip it and run the application.

Thanks a lot to the MSI team who answered my email
