VEO PHOTO TRAVELER FOR PALM SOFTWARE DRIVER 1.0.4 - SETUP INSTRUCTIONS

Make sure that you have the Palm HotSync program already installed on your computer. If you do not have HotSync installed on your computer, please install it before attempting to install the Veo Photo Traveler for Palm Software Driver. You'll also need to install the Veo Creative Studio to transfer the photos from your Palm handheld to the PC. To install the software driver, follow the directions below:

1) Double-click on the setup program corresponding to the language you are using:

	English: 			VeoSetupEN.exe
	Chinese (Simple):		VeoSetupCN.exe
	German: 			VeoSetupDE.exe
	French: 			VeoSetupFR.exe
	Italian: 			VeoSetupIT.exe
	Portuguese: 			VeoSetupPR.exe
	Spanish: 			VeoSetupES.exe
	Taiwan (Traditional):		VeoSetupTW.exe

2) After the program has been installed, place the Palm into the HotSync cradle and perform a HotSync.

3) HotSync will install the Veo application on your Palm handheld.

4) Plug your Veo Photo Traveler for Palm camera into the SDIO slot on your Palm. You'll hear two beeps from the Palm handheld, indicating that the camera has been detected.

5) Tap on the Veo icon and tap the camera button to start the camera.

TROUBLESHOOTING
----------------------------------------------------------------

The Palm does not recognize that the camera is connected or has been inserted.
--or-- 
When inserting the camera into your Palm handheld you receive the error message: 'The battery is too low for this operation.'

Cause: Your Palm handheld does not have the SDIO driver for the SD slot installed. The SDIO driver was not installed on your Palm handheld preventing the Veo Photo Traveler from working properly. 
Solution: Please follow the steps below to correct the issue: 

1) Remove the Veo Photo Traveler camera from your Palm. 
2) Reinstall the Veo Photo Traveler software from your Veo Photo Traveler for Palm CD ROM. 
3) After the software has been installed, place your Palm handheld onto the HotSync cradle and press the HotSync button. 
4) The HotSync process should install the SDIO driver and Veo program on your Palm handheld. 
5) Reinsert the Veo Photo Traveler camera into your Palm. The Palm will detect the camera and you can now tap on the Veo icon to start the camera.

TREO 90 HANDHELDS
------------------------------------------------

If you have a Treo 90, please follow use these alternative directions, otherwise continue on to the next section if you have any other Palm handheld:
 
1) Make sure that you are using the latest Palm OS on your Treo 90. Currently, the latest version is v.4.1H3. To find out which version of the Palm OS your handheld is using, follow these steps: 

A) Open the Applications launcher. 
B) Access the Menu launcher. 
C) From the App menu, select Info. 
D) At the bottom of the screen, tap on Version. 
E) At the top of the screen, look for the Palm OS version:

	Palm OS v.4.1H or v. 4.1H2: 	You can install the updater 
	Palm OS vs. 4.1H3: 		You do not need the updater

2) If you are not using the latest version, update the Palm OS on your Treo 90 to the latest version (v.4.1H3 or higher). You can obtain the latest Palm OS from Handspring's webpage at: http://support.handspring.com/esupport/forms/hsResolutionView.jsp?ResolutionId=8487 

3) Once updated to v.4.1H3 or higher, you can plug your camera into the SD I/O slot on your Treo 90 and the camera should work without any additional steps. 

4) The Treo 90 Updater 1.1 adds SD I/O (Secure Digital Input/Output, SDIO) support and other improvements to Treo 90 organizers manufactured during the first months of production. This updater lets early adopters take advantage of third-party SD I/O expansion cards.

PALM HANDHELDS
------------------------------------------------

If the steps above did not help, please try these additional steps: 

1) Remove the Veo Photo Traveler camera from your Palm. 
2) Make sure that you have the Veo Photo Traveler software already installed on your computer. 
3) Double click on the Palm Desktop icon located on the desktop of the laptop or desktop computer. 
4) In the Palm Desktop application click on Install to open the Install Tool window. Under "User," make sure that the correct user is selected. 
5) Click the Add button. Browse to the Veo Photo Traveler folder, located in the C:\Program Files\Veo Photo Traveler folder. 
6) Click on the SlotDrvrSDIO_xxXX.prc file, depending on which language your Palm handheld is using, and then click Open. 
	English: SlotDrvrSDIO_enUS.prc
	Chinese (Simple): SlotDrvrSDIO_enUS.prc 
	German: SlotDrvrSDIO_deDE.prc 
	French: SlotDrvrSDIO_frFR.prc 
	Italian: SlotDrvrSDIO_itIT.prc 
	Portuguese: SlotDrvrSDIO_esES.prc 
	Spanish: SlotDrvrSDIO_esES.prc
	Taiwan (Traditional): SlotDrvrSDIO_enUS.prc

7) Click the Add button again and click on veo_xxXX.prc, depending on which language your Palm handheld is using, and then click Open. 
	English: veo.prc
	Chinese (Simple): veo_zhCN.prc
	German: veo_deDE.prc 
	French: veo_frFR.prc 
	Italian: veo_itIT.prc 
	Portuguese: veo_ptBR.prc 
	Spanish: veo_esES.prc
	Taiwan (Traditional): veo_zhTW.prc

8) The two files SlotDrvrSDIO_xxXX.prc and veo_xxXX.prc (depending on the language your Palm handheld is using) should be listed in the Install Tool window. Click Done. 
9) Place your Palm handheld onto the HotSync cradle and press the HotSync button. The files listed in the Install Tool window will be transferred to your Palm handheld computer. 
10) At the end of the file transfer you will receive the following message on your Palm handheld, "You now need to reset your handheld computer by tapping the button below." Tap the Reset button to restart the Palm handheld. 
11) Remove the Palm handheld computer from the cradle and insert the Veo Photo Traveler camera into the SD slot. You will hear the Palm handheld beep to indicate that the camera has been detected. The Veo program should open automatically. 
12) Tap the camera icon in the Veo program to turn the camera on.
