Windows 98, Windows 98 SE, Windows ME, Windows2000, Win XP
Introduction:

This document describes the procedure to install Windows 98/98 SE/ME
and Windows 2000 driver for Realtek RTL8139 or 8100 PCI Fast Ethernet adapter.
Location of Windows 98/98 SE/ME Driver : X:\\ON_board\Lan_8139_8100\win98\RTL8139.SYS
Location of Windows 2000 Driver : X:\\ON_board\Lan_8139_8100\win2000\RTL8139.SYS
Location of Windows XP Driver : X:\\ON_board\Lan_8139_8100\winxp\RTL8139.SYS
X: your CD-ROM Drive Letter with driver
Installing driver procedure on Microsoft Win98/Win98 SE/Win ME/Windows2000 :

Before you start with the installation process, make sure that your
adapter should be properly installed in your PCI bus slot.
Executing Win98/Win98 SE/Win ME/Windows2000, it will auto-detect your
system configuration and find the adapter hardware. ( If Win98/Win98 SE/
Win ME/Windows2000 does not prompt that it detects the PCI Ethernet adapter,
there must be something wrong with the RTL8139 PCI Fast Ethernet adapter
or your system enviroment.)
1. Ask you to select which driver you want to install, select "Driver
from disk provided by hardware manufacturer".
2. Insert the Realtek RTL8139 driver disk into drive X and specify
the setup file pathname X:\ON_board\Lan_8139_8100\WIN98 (for Windows 98/98 SE/ME) or
X:\ON_board\Lan_8139_8100\WIN2000 (for Windows 2000) .
X:\ON_board\Lan_8139_8100\WINXP (for Windows XP) .
3. Win98/Win98 SE/Win ME/Windows2000/WinXP will appear some messages to insert
Win98/Win98 SE/Win ME/Windows2000/WinXP system disk to complete setup step.
4. Win98/Win98 SE/Win ME/Windows2000 will finish the other installation procedure
automatically, then you restart the system.
Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
