PC Port Driver Installation Guide for Windows ============================================= Introduction ============ This document describes the procedure to install the Windows USB driver for the 2Wire PC Port Phoneline 10Mbps USB Adapter. Notice that 2Wire has two different models of PC Port. This driver is for use with the model with one phone jack only. Installation procedure for Windows 98/2000/ME/XP ================================================ 1. Turn on the power of your PC to boot from Windows 98/2000/ME/XP. 2. Plug 2Wire PC Port Phoneline 10Mbps USB Adapter into one of the USB ports on your PC. Windows 98/2000/ME/XP may auto-detect your new adapter, and the "New Hardware Found" dialog box will appear. 3. Specify the path of the driver in your installation subdirectory (e.g. C:\TWUSB_TEMP) to copy the driver file to your PC. 4. Press "NEXT" then select "Search for the best driver for your device." 4. When the driver installation is completed, restart Windows if your system has Windows 98 or Windows ME. You do not need to restart Windows for Windows 2000 or Windows XP. 5. After your computer restarts (only in the case of Windows 98 or Windows ME), configure the parameter settings in the "Network" configuration, if needed. NOTE: Most users will not have to do this, especially if you have an IP address assigned to the PC Port automatically from the 2Wire Gateway. 2Wire Gateway USB Driver Installation Guide for Windows ======================================================= Introduction ============ This document describes the procedure to install the Windows USB driver for the built-in USB port of 2Wire gateway product (HomePortal residential gateway and OfficePortal broadband router). Installation procedure for Windows 98/2000/ME/XP ================================================ 1. Turn on the power of your PC to boot from Windows 98/2000/ME/XP. 2. Use a USB cable to connect the USB port of your 2Wire gateway to an available USB port on your PC. Windows 98/2000/ME/XP may auto-detect your new adapter, and the "New Hardware Found" dialog box will appear. 3. Specify the path of the driver in your installation subdirectory (e.g. C:\TWUSB_TEMP) to copy the driver file to your PC. 4. Press "NEXT" then select "Search for the best driver for your device." 4. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
