INSTALL.TXT Driver File Contents (CFUSB98.exe)

If you have already tried a previous installation of this product. Please remove the 
drivers before installing new ones. Do this through the add/remove programs option by 
opening add/remove programs and selecting SCM PCD30USB Driver and hitting remove. Then 
check the Control Panel -> System -> Device Manager -> System Devices for a PCD-30USB 
Enumerator. If the Enumerator is still there, please select it and click on remove. 
Attach the USB connector to the PC and the power to the reader but do not power the 
reader on. Once you are finished with the above instructions, continue on with the 
installation instructions below.


1.  Control Panel/Add New Hardware
2.  Select "System Devices" from a list of drivers
3.  Click on "Have Disk"
4.  Type in "A:\win95" or "A:\win98" depending on your operating system.
5.  Install the "USB Card Reader Enumerator.
6.  Finish installation with the Wizard.
7.  Open "My Computer" and power on your reader.  Watch the drive letter appear.
    It will show up as "Removable disk".
8.  Insert your pc card.  Your reader is now properly installed.


To uninstall this version of the PCD-30USB driver, you can use the uninst.exe file located 
on this floppy disk. Using the uninst.exe is only recommended for this version of the 
PCD-30USB driver.  Using this with any other previous installation may not uninstall the 
driver properly.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
