Plug adapter into one of the ISA slots on your PC. 2. Turn the PC power on then boot from Windows 98. 3. When Windows prompts with "NE2000 Compatible" in the "Add New Hardware Wizard" dialog box, click "Next". 4. Click off "Floppy disk drives". Select "Specify a location" and type "A:\WIN98", then click "Next". 5. Insert the card's driver diskette in your floppy drive. 6. Click the "Next >" button in the "Add New Hardware Wizard" dialog box. 7. When Windows prompts with "PNP ISA Ethernet Adapter" in the "Add New Hardware Wizard" dialog box, click "Next". Windows will copy the driver from A:\WIN98 to C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM and the NETNDIS.INF file from A:\WIN98 to C:\WINDOWS\INF. 8. When Windows prompts with "PNP ISA Ethernet Adapter" again in the "Add New Hardware Wizard" dialog box, click the "Finish" botton. 9. Remove the card's driver diskette from your floppy drive. 10. Restart your computer to initialize the network function. Jumperless Mode: NDIS/4 Driver Installation for Windows 98 ========================================= 1. From "Control Pannel" select "Network" icon. 2. Select "Adapter" icon. 3. Select "Add" icon. 4. Select "Have Disk" icon. 5. Insert driver diskette and input the path "A:\" 6. Select "PNP ISA Ethernet Adapter" and click OK button. 7. Specify the correct Interrupt(IRQ) and I/O address range. It must match with your adapter's configuration, otherwise network function can't work properly. Click OK button. 8. Windows 98 will copy the driver from A:\WIN98 to C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory and the NETNDIS.INF file from A:\ to C:\WINDOWS\INF directory. 9. Remove the Adapter Driver Diskette from your floppy drive. 10. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
