CC:MAIL NOTES

To use the Mx modem with ccMail and ccMail Mobile, follow these 
instructions.

Click on Mobile icon and select Location setup


Create two Communication Methods:
   I.  Click on Communications icon on left hand side of the screen
	and click on List of Communication Methods "New". 
	Choose the following settings...
     	Method Name:           Cellular
        Method Type:          Modem
        Modem Type:
        Megahertz PCMCIA CC3144, CC4144,XJ1144, XJ2144, EM1144-T
        Command File:  MHZC144.MDM
        Serial Port Settings:
        Serial Port:   COM 2           Speed:   9600
	Click on OK
    
  II. 	Click on List of Communication Methods "New". 
	Choose the following settings...
   	Method Name:            Modem
     	Method Type:       	Modem
      	Modem Type:                                                              
      	Megahertz XJ3288R/XJ4288/CC4288 28.8 PCMCIA
   	Command File:  MHZX288P.MDM
     	Serial Port Settings 
     	Serial Port:	COM 2      	Speed:   57600     


Create Two Locations (one for Cellular and one for wireline modem):

I.  Cellular Location Setup
     
     Click on Current Location "New" and type Cellular
     Select an icon and Click OK.

II. Home/Office Location Setup

     Click on Current Location "New" and type Home or Office
     Select an icon and Click OK.
     Click on YES to save changes to Cellular
     

Enable Communications Methods:
   	
	With "Home/Office" location selected
	Under List of Communication Methods, Select Cellular 
	by clicking on it
	Click on Disable to disable cellular from the "Home/Office" location
	
        Select "Cellular" location
	Under List of Communication Methods, Select Modem 
	by clicking on it
	Click on Disable to disable Modem from the "Cellular" location

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
