1. New Features

   -- Support for Merlin Pocket PC 2002 and Toshiba PPC devices.

   -- Localized application for French, Italian, German, Spanish, and 
      Japanese.

   -- Localized keyboard layouts for French, Italian, German, Spanish, 
      and Japanese.

2. Installing with ActiveSync

ActiveSync must be correctly installed to run the setup program.
If you are unfamiliar with ActiveSync or cannot connect, please consult
your PocketPC documentation or contact the maker of your device.

   1) Backup your Pocket PC device with ActiveSync.

   2) If a previous version of the Stowaway driver is present on your
      Pocket PC, please completely delete it using ActiveSync's 
      Add/Remove feature.  Previous versions of the driver may be named
      "Think Outside Stowaway", "Targus Stowaway", or "Stowaway 
      Keyboard Driver".

   3) If you have a Stowaway CD, insert it into your CD-ROM drive.  The
      setup program should start automatically. If it doesn't, 
      double-click the CD-ROM icon.  If the setup program still doesn't 
      start, right-click the CD-ROM icon, select "Open", locate the 
      file icon named "StowawayPPC16USA.exe", then SKIP TO STEP 5.

   4) If you have downloaded the installer from the web, locate the file
      icon named "StowawayPPC16USA.exe".

   5) Run the setup program by double-clicking on the
      "StowawayPPC16USA.exe" icon.  Follow the instructions and select
      the language you wish to install on your device.

   6) Check your Pocket PC for final installation instructions.  PLEASE
      PIN RESET YOUR DEVICE BEFORE ATTACHING AND USING YOUR KEYBOARD.

3. Known Issues

   1) Support for Fn+Windows key was removed. Future versions of the
      software may include this feature.

   2) Sometimes, the Stowaway keyboard is not detected when the Pocket
      PC is attached to it.  If this happens, simply turn the Pocket PC
      off and back on while attached to the keyboard.

   3) Sometimes ActiveSync will not launch when you Pocket PC is 
      inserted into the ActiveSync cradle.  Try removing your Pocket PC
      from the cradle, then replacing it back into the cradle.  Contact 
      the maker of your device if ActiveSync does not launch normally.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
