Prepararation: 1. Remove any media from CD-RW drive. 2. Close all applications 3. Shut down and power off the system To update the Firmware 1. Insert the FDD media into A: drive 2. Power on PC 3. Make sure the power is not interrupted during this process. 4. PC will boot on this diskette and following message will appear ----------------------------------------------------- Firmware Upgrade Tool Ver 1.0 Sony Corporation, 2000 All Right Reserved. Searching CRX140E ........ ----------------------------------------------------- 4.Few seconds later, system would find CRX140E and show another message as follows (In this example: The CRX140E is connected to the Secondary IDE channel as the Master device) ----------------------------------------------------- ***** CRX140E for Upgrade ****************** 1. Sony CD-RW CRX140E 1.0h ........ Connecting to Secondary, Master Binary filename ..... UPDATE.BIN Update process takes about 60 second. Do you want to upgrade firmware ?[Y/N] ----------------------------------------------------- 5. Press "YES" then start upgrading. 6. Following message will appear. Then wait for 60 seconds until Complete is shown. ------------------------------------------------------ Check file ............ Good !! Transfering the data ............ Complete !! ------------------------------------------------------ 7. Another message will appear and ask us to confirm the updated status. Please check if the program recognizes the firmware as 1.0n. ------------------------------------------------------- ***** CRX140E after Upgrade ****************** 1. Sony CD-RW CRX140E 1.0n ........ Connecting to Secondary, Master Firmware Upgrade for Sony CRX140E Complete. Please remove the floppy diskette from floppy drive and power off. ------------------------------------------------------- It is important to actually power off the system for a few moments, if the diskette is removed from the A: drive, then power on the system and reboot after momentary period of time.Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
