RELEASE NOTES FOR NM2200/2360 WIN9x AUDIO DRIVER VERSION 2.04.0038Q

DRIVER INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR WINDOWS 95:
--------------------------

1) Place the "NEOMAGIC NM2200/2360 WIN9X AUDIO DRIVER" diskette in Drive A:
2) Double Click on My Computer, 3 1/2 Floppy [A:], and Setup.exe
3) Click "Next", then "Yes" on the following 2 boxes.
4) Click Finish to Restart Computer and finish the installation.
5) Click "Next" on the Update Device Driver Wizard Window. 
6) Click Finish, then OK, then click browse and A: under drives and click OK and OK again.


DRIVER INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR WINDOWS 98:
--------------------------

1) Place the "NEOMAGIC NM2200/2360 WIN9X AUDIO DRIVER" diskette in Drive A:
2) Double Click on My Computer, 3 1/2 Floppy [A:], and Setup.exe
3) Click "Next", then "Yes" on the following 2 boxes.
4) Click Finish to Restart Computer and finish the installation.
5) Click "Next" on the "Add New Hardware Wizard" Window.
6) Click "Next" again, then click on "Floppy disk drives" and "Next" . 
9) Click "Next" two times on the next two windows. 
10) Click Finish.



TO INSTALL SOUND BLASTER EMULATION FOR MSDOS BASED GAMES:
--------------------------------------------------------
(NOTE: THIS DRIVER USES ADDITIONAL RESOURCES THAT CAN BE FREED UP BY UNINSTALLING WHEN 
       FINISHED USING IT.)

1) Right click on My Computer, then click on properties.
2) Click on the Device Manager tab.
3) Double click on "sound, video and game controllers" 
4) Double click on NeoMagic MagicMedia 256 Audio.
5) Click on the settings tab, and put a checkmark in the "Enable Sound Blaster Emulation"
   box, then restart the system after being told to do so.

(NOTE: TO UNINSTALL SOUND BLASTER EMULATION FOLLOW STEPS 1-4 ABOVE, THEN IN STEP 5; REMOVE
       THE CHECKMARK IN THE "ENABLE SOUND BLASTER EMULATION" BOX AND RESTART SYSTEM.)


DRIVER DESCRIPTION :

1) Disk1 - Install Shield setup containing binary file with the Audio Driver
	   and the Audio Virtual Device Driver.


FILE DESCRIPTIONS :

1) NMAUDIOD.DRV - is a binary file containing the Audio Driver
2) NMAUDIOV.VXD - is a binary file containing the Audio Virtual Device Driver
3) NMAUDIO.INF  - is a information file containing driver information and IDs

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
