1. Updating your system BIOS by PFLASH.EXE

*    1. Flash EPROM provides you a convenient way to update your      *
*       system BIOS, please note that updating your system BIOS       *
*       is serious, only update when you need to do it. Un-necessary  *
*       updating cause malfunction of the system are not cover        *
*       within the warranty.                                          *
*                                                                     *
*    2. If you write something wrong to your FLASH EPROM, system      *
*       may not boot anymore, please refer to the manual carefully    *
*       to make sure you follow the correct step in updating, or      *
*       ask qualify technician and/or call your dealer for help.      *
*                                                                     *

  (1) Make sure the FLASH Read/Write jumper of M/B is correct. If the
      setting is incorrect, the Flash EPROM won't be programed. Please
      refer to the manual to set it respectfully.

  (2) Boot your system from MS-DOS system diskette which contains no
      CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT files.

      Note: FLASH.EXE can't work under protected mode/virtual mode.
            Memory manager like QEMM386, EMM386, 386MAX should not be
            loaded.

  (3) Type "PFLASH", then press "ENTER".

  (4) To support "Plug&Play" BIOS Programming, you require "Block Mode"
      type FLASH EPROM. The PFLASH.EXE can support SST 5 Volt FLASH
      EPROM(PH29EE010) and Intel 12Volt Boot Block FLASH EPROM (P28F001
      BX-T) only. Do not continue to program FLASH EPROM if the FLASH
      type is "UNKNOWN".

  (5) If the system boots up from Non-Plug&Play BIOS, please choose
      command option 3.(Advanced Feature) and then choose command
      option 2.(Update BIOS Including Boot Block and ESCD) to load new
      BIOS into FLASH EPROM.

      If the system boots up from version 0102 Plug&Play BIOS, please
      choose command option 3.(Advanced Feature) and then choose
      command option 2.(Update BIOS Including Boot Block and ESCD) to
      load new BIOS into FLASH EPROM.

      Otherwise choose command option 2.(Update BIOS Main Block From
      File) to load new BIOS and into FLASH EPROM.

      There is one BIOS file in this diskette. Please key-in the
      correct BIOS file to program Flash EPROM.

                             OR  P/I-P55TP4XE M/B OR P/I-P55TP4XEG M/B
                             OR  P/I-P55TP4N  M/B

      P.S. XXXX=BIOS Version Number

  (6) If you get any error during flashing EPROM, please go back to
      step 5 until successfully flashing it. Otherwise, your system might
      not boot anymore.

  (7) Press "ESC" key to exit.

  (8) Turn OFF power and restart system again.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
