Installation Guide for VC100 USB WebCam under Windows XP

1.  Unzip this driver to a known location, example C:\Camera

2.  Plug in the USB Camera and the "Found New Hardware" message will appear at the botoom right hand corner of the screen.

3.  The "Found New Hardware Wizard" will appear.  Choose "Install from a specific location", click Next.

4.  On the next screen, sleect "Don't search.  I will choose the driver to install", click Next.

5.  In the Hardware Type select "Imaging Devices", click Next.

6.  The message returned will be "Unable to find any drivers for this device", click "Have Disk".

7.  Browse to the location you extracted the driver files to, exampl C:\Camera, and select "USBCAM.inf".  Click "Open" and then "OK".

8.  The Hardware Wizard will return, with a Compatible Hardware device listed as VGA CMOS-A USB CAMERA Ver.01, click Next.

9.  "Continue Anyway" when the warning about the Windows Logo test comes up.

10. Click Finish, and the camer driver is installed.

11. Run Setup.exe from the VP-EYE CD, found in E:\Ap.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
