Installation Instructions for the 09537 Trust Communicator ISDN External on Windows XP: NOTE: This driver can also be used on Windows 2000. Some of the descriptions can be a bit different compared to Windows XP, but the installation is basically the same. A. Hardware installation: 1. turn of your computer 2. connect the included serial cable to the "RS-232" connection at the rear side of the modem 3. connect the other end to a free serial port (COM1 or COM2) using the 9pin or 25pin connector 4. connect the power adapter plug into the "POWER" connection at the rear side of the modem 5. plug the power adapter into the wall-outlet 6. connect the plug of the ISDN cable into the "TO LINE" connection at the rear side of the modem 7. switch on the modem with the power switch on the rear side of the modem B. Driver installation: 8. turn on your computer and start Windows XP 9. go to "Start" and select "Control Panel" 10. select the category "Printers and other Hardware" 11. select the icon "Phone and Modem Options" 12. go to the tab "Modems" and click the button "Add..." 13. Select the option "Don't detect my modem; I will select it from a list" and click "Next" 14. click the button "Have Disk..." 15. type in the driver location (for example: C:\Download\Driver09537\) and click "OK" 16. select the "Trust Communicator ISDN External" and click "Next" 17. select the COM port to which the modem is connected (COM1 or COM2) and click "Next" 18. The message "not passed Windows Logo testing" appears. Click "Continue Anyway" 19. after installation click "Finish" C. Set Modem and COM port settings: 20. Go to the "Modems" tab of the "Phone and Modem Options" and select the "Trust Communicator ISDN External" 21. click the button "Properties", select the tab "Modem" and set the port speed at 115200 22. select the tab "diagnostics" and click the button "Query Modem" to test the connectivity of the modem NOTE: several commands are not supported according to the information which appears, but the modem works properly 23. select the tab "ISDN" and select the "European ISDN (DSS1)" protocol 24. fill in your phone number(s) to which the ISDN modem is connected and click "OK" 25. go back to the Category view of the Control Panel 26. click the category "Performance and Maintenance" 27. click the icon "System" 28. go to the tab "Hardware" and click "Device Manager" 29. click the "+" next to "Ports (COM&LPT)" and doubleclick the COM port to which the modem is connected (COM1 or COM2) 30. Select the tab "Port Settings" and make the following settings: - Bits per second: 115200 - Data bits : 8 - Parity : None - Stop bits : 1 - Flow control : None 31. Click the button "Advanced" and set the "Transmit buffer" to the minimum setting (Low) 32. Close all the setting screens. D. Make a dial-up connection to the internet: 33. go to "Start" -> "All Programs" -> "Accessoires" -> "Communications" -> "New Connection Wizard" 34. click "Next" 35. select "Connect to the internet" and click "Next" 36. select "Setup my connection manually" and click "Next" 37. select "Connect using a dial-up modem" and click "Next" 38. fill in the name of your Internet Service Provider (ISP) and click "Next" 39. fill in the ISDN phone number which is provided by your ISP and click "Next" 40. fill in your user name and password which is provided by your ISP and click "Next" 41. select the option "Add a shortcut to the desktop" (optional) and click "Finish" Doubleclick on the modem icon on the desktop or go to "Start" -> "Connect To" and select the modem icon to make a dial-up connection. You can now use your browser to surf the internet and use your mail program with this connection.Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
