INTRODUCTION
This will release the corrective service diskette to rewrite and correct the 
Device ID Mismatch issue with the 10/100 Network DVD DOCK II (PA3007U-1DST).

SUMMARY
When the Portege 7000CT, 7010CT or 7020CT is docked with the 10/100 Network
DVD Dock II the unit stops working, displaying the following message:

	"PXE-E01:PCI Vendor and device ID's could not match".

The Portege 7140CT and 7200CT are not affected by this issue

CAUSE
An error on the Test & Diagnostics for the DVD Dock II led to a mistake on the
production line, where the ID of the 10/100 Network DVD Dock was written to 
the 10/100 Network DVD Dock II.

COUNTERMEASURE
Rewrite the Device ID of the 10/100 Network DVD Dock II using the provided
corrective service diskette.

How to use the utility:
1.	 Ensure that the Portege 70xx has the appropriate BIOS level to recognize
    the LAN DOCK II (Portege 7000CT: 8.20 or above, 7010CT: 8.30 or above,
    7020CT: 7.70 or above.)
2.	 Make sure that the battery of the computer (Portege 7000CT, 7010CT,
    7020CT) is fully charged.
3.	 Dock the computer in the 10/100 Network DVD Dock II (PA3007U-1DST)
4.	 Insert the bootable corrective service diskette into the FDD of the 10/100
    Network DVD Dock II
5.	 If connected, disconnect the AC adapter of the 10/100 Network DVD Dock II.
6.	 Turn the computer on by pressing the power button
7.	 The computer boots from the corrective service diskette and the utility
    program starts
8.	 After the system boots, the utility will show the following message
    prompting the user to connect the AC Adapter:
   
		"Connect the AC adaptor to the DVD Dock, and Press any key to continue"
		
9.	 If a key is pressed, the utility will start the rewrite procedure
10. When the rewrite process is completed, the displays the following message:

		"You completely finished"

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
