Installing the drivers on an existing Windows NT 4.0 installation

1. Start your Windows system and log in. You must have System Administrator privileges to install the driver.

2. Choose "Settings" from the "Start" menu.

3. Choose "Control Panel" from the "Settings" Menu

4. Double-click on the "SCSI Adapters" icon

5. Choose "Drivers" and select "Add"

6. In the "Install Drivers" dialog box select "Have Disk"

7. When the "Install From Disk" appears insert the appropriate driver diskette, type the location of the drivers, and press Enter.

8. When the Install Driver dialog box appears select LSI Logic Ultra320 1020/1030 Driver

9. Choose "Install" to proceed.

Installing the drivers on a new Windows NT 4.0 installation

1. Start the Windows NT installation by booting from the Windows CD-ROM:

2. Press the F6 key to install the LSI driver when the screen displays "WINNT Setup".

3. Choose S to specify an additional device when the screen displays "Setup could not determine the type of one or more mass storage devices..." 

NOTE: If this screen is not displayed as the first user input, then pressing the F6 key was not seen by the setup program. Reboot the system and try again.

The system prompts for the manufacturer-supplied hardware support disk.
4. Insert the appropriate driver diskette** and press Enter.
5. Press Enter to proceed.

Return to the Windows Setup screen.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
