readme.txt Driver File Contents (SB4100.zip)

A problem I had under windows 98 was that it wouldn't load the drivers. I did the follow to fix the problem (this does involves editing the registry and can cause your computer not to boot up properly, all precautions to back up your registry should be done. I do not take responsiblity for any problems.):

1. Go to Start-Run and type Regedit
2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Enum\USB
3. Delete the following keys VID_07B2&PID_4100, VID_07B2&PID_4100&MI_00, and VID_07B2&PID_4100&MI_01
4. I unplugged USB from the back of the computer and replugged it back in while it was running in order to get the computer to detect it. You Might try restarting, use Add New Hardware, or unplugging the Cable Modem from the wall for 2 minutes before plugging it back in.
5. Go through the wizard and do the Search for better driver(Recommend), and point it to the usb drivers that was included with this text file.
6. Restart when prompt.

*If the modem flashes but it still doesn't get on the internet. Remove TCP/IP, restart, and reinstall TCP/IP back.

Worked fine under Windows 2000.
