NETGEAR FA310TX Fast Ethernet PCI Adapter
               -----------------------------------------
Driver Installation for Microsoft Windows NT 3.51
        --------------------------------------------------------

  Getting Started
  ---------------

The Windows NT CD-ROM or diskettes are needed for the following procedure.

  Installation Procedure
  ----------------------
  1. Boot up the system with Windows NT 3.51 . From the "Main" window,
      select "Control Panel".

  2. In the "Control Panel" window, select the "Network" icon.

  3. In the "Network Settings" window, select "Add Adapter". Windows NT
will display a list of all available drivers.

  4. Select "Other" for third-party adapters not included in the list.
The program prompts for the directory containing the Ethernet
      drivers.

  5. Specify the full path of the driver, A:\WINNT\NT351.

  6. Windows NT will attempt to locate the OEMSETUP.INF file in the
specified path and copy the appropriate drivers into the Windows NT
      system.

  7. Choose the "NETGEAR FA310TX Fast Ethernet PCI Adapter".

  8. The driver is now properly installed. The installation procedure
will proceed to the next steps. Please refer to your Windows NT
installation guide for information on these steps.

  9. A window will appear allowing you to specify your network connection
      type and transmit threshold.

For "Connection Type", choose "AutoSense". The driver will auto-
detect the media that is connecting to the adapter. Other possible
      connection type selections are "10Base-T", "10Base-T full_duplex",
      "100Base-TX", and "100Base-TX full_duplex".

For "Transmit Threshold", choose "256 Bytes". The smaller the transmit
threshold, the better the adapter's transmitting performance is. The
default value "256 Byte" is suited to most computers with Pentinum or
better processors. If you are using a computer with 486 processor,
please choose the "Store and Forward" selection. Other possible transmit
threshold selections are "Store and Forward", "36 Bytes", "72 Bytes",
      "96 Bytes", "128 Bytes", and "160 Bytes".

  10. After the initial installation, the FA310TX NT 3.51 driver is
permanently installed into the system. Subsequent accesses to the
network driver list will include this driver as one of the options.
