For Cheetahpower EN3207 and EN2242 adapter, the procedure is similar. Contents: --------- (A) Installing the NDIS5 Miniport driver on Microsoft Windows XP (A) Installing the NDIS5 Miniport driver on Microsoft Windows XP ================================================================= Note: There is an built-in driver in Windows XP. Therefore, the installation that user should is to update the driver. The procedure is different with new installation of a new hardware. 1. Plug Accton's EN1207F series adapter into one of the Master PCI slots of your PCI platform. 2. Turn the power ON, then boot from Windows XP. 3. Then Windows XP will recognize the adapter and install the built-in driver by default. 4. Click the following icon sequence to find the network connections: "Start" -> "Control Panel" -> "Network and Internet Connections". 5. In the "Network and Internet Connections" window, move your focus to "or Pick a Control Panel Icon" and click "Network Connections". 6. In the "Network Connections" window, you will find an icon with the name "Accton EN1207F Series PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter". 7. Right click the icon and choose "Property" in the pull-down menu. 8. In the "Property" dialog, click "Config" button. 9. Click the "Driver" tab, then click "Update Driver...". 10. When "Hardware Update Wizard" window appears, choose "Install from a list or specific location(Advanced)", click "Next". 11. Insert the Accton's Driver Disk or CD-ROM. 11. Choose "Search for the best driver in these locations" option and "Include this location in the search" option, then type "X:\WinXP" in the text box below. Click "Next". Notice: X: means the drive (Floppy or CD-ROM) containing the driver, such as: A:, or D: etc. 12. Windows XP will find the driver located in the driver disk and copy required files. After this is completed, a successful message will display in the window. Click "Finish" to finish the installation. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
