This version of the Hauppauge Windows 2000/NT4 Video Capture
Driver will work with the following models of Hauppauge
WinTV boards:

WinCast/TV (all models)
WinTV-pci
WinTV-primio
WinTV-radio
ImpactVCB model 00430 only

This driver has been tested on Windows NT 4.0, and will
support applications that require a Video for Windows capture 
driver, including Microsoft's NetMeeting 2.0 video conferencing 
software.

If you have a previous version of the driver, it is recommended
that you uninstall it by using the Control Panel, Add/Remove
Programs applet. Select "Hauppauge Windows NT Driver" and click
Add/Remove...

You must install this version or later of the drivers to use 
SnapShot or the NT WinTV application.

To install the Hauppauge Windows NT Video Capture Driver, run 
Setup.EXE from this disk.

To test the installation of this driver, run VidCap32 in the 
WinCastTV program group.

    The Hauppauge WinCast/TV Video Capture Driver for WindowsNT 4.0
supports the following video pixel formats:

RGB32
RGB24
RGB15
Grey8
4:2:2 packed
YVU12
YVU9

    Configuration dialog settings accessible from Video For Windows 
applications allow selection of: 

Standard frame sizes: full, half, 3/8, 1/4.
Standard square pixel, and CCIR601 aspect ratios.
Custom sizes.  All sizes and aspect ratios are available that are 
         supported by the Bt848 chip.
Interactive control of brightness, hue, contrast, and saturation.
Selection of video input source (composite or svideo), 

   Under WindowsNT 4.0, the Hauppauge WinCast/TV Video Capture Driver 
supports Direct Draw for drawing video overlays with minimal load on 
the system processor.  The overlay drawing rate with Direct Draw is 
30 frames per second; without Direct Draw,  30 frames per second for 
half frames (CIF) and smaller, proportionally less for larger frames.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
