BIOS Upgrade Instruction

Downloading 
1. Create a subdirectory called "BIOS" in the <C:\> drive 
2. Download AMIFlash.com or AWDFlash.exe (make sure the suffices are .com and .exe respectively) & the necessary BIOS to that subdirectory (all the zipped files must be unzipped if download from our website) 

Boot your system from a clean system diskette!! If you do not have a clean bootable system diskette. Make one by: 
1. Insert a new diskette in your A: drive 
2. From a <C:\WINDOWS\> command prompt type <FORMAT A: /s /u> 
3. Once the format is complete, leave the bootable floppy in the A: drive and reboot your computer. 
4. Make sure that in your current BIOS setup the boot sequence is A: C:, otherwise you will not be able to boot from the clean boot Disk in the A: drive. 

Once you have rebooted and are at a simple DOS command prompt, (ie: C:\) 
1. Change to the subdirectory "BIOS" where you have downloaded both the AMIFlash.com or AWDFlash.exe utility and the BIOS update file. 
2. AMIFlash.com must be saved with (.com suffix) and AWDFlash.exe must be saved with (.exe suffix). 
3. Run the AMIFlash.com (for AMI BIOS) or AWDFlash.exe (for Award BIOS) 
4. The first prompt requests the filename for the NEW BIOS. Type the file name including the extension (AMI - ROM, Award - BIN) of the new BIOS and press Enter. 
5. The second prompt asks if the OLD BIOS should be saved. Saving may help in the future. Press Y then press Enter and Type in the name you want it to be saved under. 
6. The next prompt asks permission to program and press Enter. 
7. The program confirms if you want to progrAm the BIOS, Press Y then Enter. 

DO NOT INTERFERE WITH THE UPDATE PROCEDURE. WAIT FOR THE PROGRAM TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THE UPDATE HAS SUCEEDED AND THEN TURN THE SYSTEM OFF AND BACK ON AGAIN.
Your system is now running under the new BIOS.

· A new updated BIOS is NOT necessarily a better BIOS. If you are NOT having the problems that an update will correct, it is highly recommended that BIOS be left alone.
