Hewlett-Packard Multimedia Keyboard Driver - 3.2.132 -------------------------------------------------------- This program installs the Hewlett-Packard Multimedia Keyboard Driver which is part of the 6300 and 8300 series Pavilion systems. It can also be used on any HP-Pavilion PC which uses the three-button keyboard (Internet/Suspend/Information) or the multimedia keyboard with a rotary volume knob just above the F11 key. If you are installing this driver on an older HP-Pavilion PC with multimedia keyboard, the following points should be noted: o As this driver is intended for the 6300/8300 series Pavilions, the multimedia playback control keys, as they relate to 8300 DVD control, are configured specifically for that DVD player. This control is incompatible with the different DVD player which was included with the 8190 and 8200 series Pavilions. If you install this multimedia keyboard driver on one of those earlier systems, you can no longer use the multimedia control buttons (Play, Stop, Prev, Next) to control your DVD playback. o The keyboard icon no longer appears in the SysTray of the taskbar. Keyboard configuration is now part of the Keyboard Control-Panel Applet. To access the programming of the multimedia keyboard, open your Control-Panel, double-click on the Keyboard icon, and select the Keyboard Manager tab. o Any configuration you currently use for your shortcut buttons will be reset during installation. You may want to take note of your current configuration before installation so you can restore your settings after installation. o More keys can be programed with this enhanced driver. Specifically, if telephony is not installed the Phone and Messages buttons will automatically appear on the Keyboard Manager tab for programming. Also, the Information button can also be programmed for any application. o Pre-configured functionality of the buttons is not guaranteed on systems other than the 6300/8300 series Pavilions. That is, after installation, you should check the functionality assigned to each key from within the Control-Panel. For example, if telephony is not installed, the Messages and Phone buttons appear on the Keyboard Manager tab for programming, but if you press these buttons before you program them, a telephone application will attempt to start, resulting in an error message. Also, as with previous versions of this driver, you are allowed to select from a list of applications as well as specify your own executable's path. The list of preconfigured applications is set for the 6300/8300 series and some of these applications may not exist on earlier models.Download Driver Pack
