3.0 RELEASE NOTES

This Readme.txt applies to the Serial I/O Installation
software.

3.1 Hi-Speed COM Tools information

1. The Hi-Speed COM Tools contains two tabs, "Ports" and "Advanced".
When the Hi-speed serial card is inserted and you are in the
Advanced screen, the Hi-Speed Card will appear as "Socket SIO
HS Card" and the Lower speed serial card will appear as "Socket
   SIO Card".

2. The Hi-Speed COM Tools will not work with older "non-High Speed"
serial cards. A warning message box appears on the Advance page
if you have a non-high speed card.

The following card part numbers are not recognized by
Hi-Speed COM Tools. The Hi-Speed COM Tools will report
that these cards are not detected. These cards work with the
standard built-in serial drivers and the Hi-Speed COM Tools will
   not interfere with their functionality.

   8010-00075 REV A
   8510-00094 REV A
   8010-00065 REV A
   8510-00073 REV A

3. The Baud Rate settings will only take effect once the OK
button is pressed and the Hi-Speed COM Tools program is
   closed.

4. In the Baud Mapper, the mapping "To" menu has an option to
select custom baud rates. The custom baud rate is indicated
with an asterisk "*" e.g. "300*". You can use customized baud
rates by selecting the asterisk option and go to "Advanced Options"
   to program your device.

Warning! The customized Baud Rates should be used by Advanced
Users only. Any modifications of the custom baud rates
implemented incorrectly can result in communication
             failures.

If you are using a lower speed serial card you must select a baud rate
below 230 Kbps. The low speed serial card may not operate properly if
you select a baud rate higher than 230 Kbps.

The Hi-Speed serial cards can be identified by the rev letter on
the back of the card. The following cards are Hi-Speed Serial
Cards and are capable of transmitting data up to 921 Kbps. For a complete
list of Serial cards see the User's Guide.
