3.0 RELEASE NOTES

This README.TXT file applies to the Bluetooth Connection Kit
Installation CD 120 H and Drakar Bluetooth Stack Version 6.0.7.0.

3.1 This release eliminates support for the HPC2000 platform.
Users of HPC2000 devices should use the previous version CD 120 G,
Drakar Bluetooth Stack version 1.4.3.32. You can download a copy
of the previous version by going to the Software & Drivers section
of Socket's Tech Support webpage:

   http://www.socketcom.com/support

3.2 Socket recommends completely uninstalling previous versions of
the Bluetooth stack prior to installing this CD 120 H to prevent
any conflicts. Socket also advises resetting your mobile device
immediately prior to performing an installation/upgrade or
uninstallation of the Bluetooth stack. This will ensure that none
of the Bluetooth programs or modules will be in memory during the
process.

3.3 This software release supports Windows Mobile 2003 Second
Edition, however, the user interface screens have not been
optimized for use in Landscape mode. Socket recommends you run the
program in Portrait mode. If you do switch to Landscape mode, you
may notice some screens appear incorrectly.

3.4 There is a Suspend/Resume issue which occurs when the OBEX
server side is suspended while receiving a file. Socket highly
recommends you do NOT Suspend during file transfers.

3.5 When setting up multiple simultaneous connections, you must
enable the LAN access profile AFTER all other types of connection
profiles or when using custom applications to set up various COM
ports. Depending on your configuration environment, setting up the
LAN access connection first could put your Bluetooth device into
Master mode which prevents other connections.

3.6 Windows Mobile Second Edition devices will get an informational
pop-up window when installing the Dialer. The OS generates this
message because the user interface screens are not optimized for
landscape mode. Click OK and continue with the installation.

3.7 The CD has been reconfigured, placing the French, German and
Japanese translated versions (previous CD 6210-00120 G, Drakar
Bluetooth Stack version 1.4.3.32) into a folder called Translations.
These translations cannot be installed from the root level Setup
Center. The user must install each language from the Setup.htm file
located in its respective folder.

3.8 A new version of Socket's Dialer, version 1.4, is needed to
operate with CD version 120 D or higher. The features of the Dialer
have not changed but the new version is needed in order for the
Dialer to run.

3.9 When printing via Field Software's PrintPocketCE application
to a printer that is not turned on, the software will behave as
though the job printed normally.

3.10 The Dialer application is unable to dial your phone if your
phone is assigned as more than one favorite device (for example,
favorite phone and favorite FAX).

3.11 Connecting to LAN Access Points is not 100% reliable in this
release. If you experience repeated failures, you may need to soft
reset your PDA to recover.

3.12 You cannot safely send via OBEX multiple contacts with a note
field that is larger than 40 lines or if the note contains special
characters.

4.0 WINDOWS CE UNINSTALL PROCEDURES

Microsoft ActiveSync offers several options for uninstalling
applications on your Windows CE device (e.g., Pocket PC).

Option 1 - To Uninstall Directly on your Pocket PC using the Remove
Program:
 a) Close the Bluetooth Card software and remove the card. Failure
to do this will prevent completion of the uninstall process.
 b) Tap on the START menu.
 c) Tap on SETTINGS.
 d) Tap on the SYSTEM Tab or CONTROL PANEL.
 e) Double or single tap on the REMOVE PROGRAMS icon.
 f) Tap on (Select) the line that says "Socket Bluetooth Drivers
    for WinCE".
 g) Double or single Tap on REMOVE.
 h) Tap on YES to confirm removal of the program.

Option 2 - To Uninstall from your Host PC. If your Windows CE
device is currently connected to your desktop machine, follow these
steps on your host PC:
 a) Close the Bluetooth Card software and remove the card. Failure
to do this will prevent completion of the uninstall process.
 b) Establish a connection between your Windows CE device and Host
    PC.
 c) Open Microsoft ActiveSync.
 d) Select TOOLS, ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS.
 e) Highlight "Socket Bluetooth Drivers for WinCE".
 f) Click REMOVE.
 g) Select OK to confirm removal of the software on your mobile
    device.
 h) Click NO in the next dialog to prevent the software from being
    removed from your Host PC.

Regardless of which of these two methods you use to uninstall the
Bluetooth Card software, you will be able to re-install the
software on your Windows CE device by simply going back into
Microsoft ActiveSync, TOOLS, ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS window, then
re-checking the "Socket Bluetooth Drivers for WinCE" item, then
clicking OK. This is possible because a copy of the Bluetooth Card
Software remains on your Host PC until you take the steps necessary
to remove it.

Option 3 - To completely uninstall the Bluetooth Card software from
both your mobile device and your Host PC:
 a) Close the Bluetooth Card software and remove the card. Failure
to do this will prevent completion of the uninstall process.
 b) Establish a connection between your Windows CE device and Host
    PC.
 c) Open Microsoft ActiveSync.
 d) Select TOOLS, ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS.
 e) Highlight "Socket Bluetooth Drivers for WinCE".
 f) Click REMOVE.
 g) Select OK to confirm removal of the software on your mobile
    device.
 h) Click YES in the next dialog to confirm removing the software
    from your Host PC.
 i) Click OK twice to close each respective dialog box or window.

This process will remove the Bluetooth Card software from both your
Windows CE device and Host PC and will require you to re-install
the program from Installation CD the software was supplied on.
