Oxygen 49/61 - Setup w/ Cubase.

This Zip file contains an XML file for Cubase (NOT for Enigma). By importing this File into a Generic Remote setup in Cubase, you can use factory preset 1 on your Oxygen 49/61 for volume, panning, and transport control over Cubase.

This setup was created using a "24 track (Mono Inputs) Audio Sequencer" Template in Cubase SX 3.1.1.

In Cubase, go to the Devices Menu and choose "Device Setup". Click the "+" sign in the top left and select Generic Remote. The new Generic Remote should automatically be selected, but if not, it's under Remote Devices>Generic Remote. Click the "Import" button, then locate and Open the unzipped "Oxygen 49-61 Cubase.xml" file. At the top, choose your Oxygen 49/61 for MIDI input, click Apply, then click OK.

The controls are mapped as follows:

The transport control buttons all function. The Fast Forward and ReWind toggle FF & RW, the loop button toggles cycle (aka loop) on/off, the Stop button stops with 1 press, and returns to where play began with the second press, and Play just plays.

The sliders and knobs on the Oxygen 49/61 will control volume and pan for Audio Tracks. When assigned to Midi Channel 1, they will control Tracks 1-8, Midi Channel 2 switches controls to tracks 9-16, and Midi Channel 3 controls tracks 17-24.

The knobs/sliders on the Oxygen default to transmit on Midi Channel 00, which means these controllers will transmit on the Global Channel, which is set to Midi Channel 1 by default. In it's default state, the Oxygen will be controlling volume and pan for tracks 1-8. Changing the Global Channel on the Oxygen will allow you to control the other banks of tracks (Ch2 = 9-16, Ch3 = 17-24). To change the Global Channel on your Oxygen, press the "Advanced" button, followed by the key labeled "Glob. Chan". Use the +/- buttons to select the desired Midi Channel, and press the key labeled "Enter" to confirm this selection.

* Since the Master Fader is also assigned to Channel 00, you will want to assign this to Midi Channel 1 so it always functions, regardless of the selected Global Channel. To do this, first move the 9th (aka Master) fader to select it for editing. Press the "Advanced" button, then the "Chan. Assign" key on the Oxygen, followed by the key labeled "1". Press the "Enter" key to confirm this selection. Next, Press the "Advanced" button, press the key labeled "Store", followed by the key labeled "1", and press the "Enter" key again. This will store this setting to memory.

* Since Cubase doesn't require that you move a fader/knob on your Oxygen past the point on screen to "catch", you may notice that faders/knobs will "jump" when changing the Global Midi Channel. To minimize any "jumping", press the "Mute" button on the Oxygen and move the sliders/knobs to the approximate position they appear on screen, and press the "Mute" button again to regain control over Cubase.
