Version 2.2 -- December 9, 2005

What is PodNova Desktop Client?
-------------------------------

The PodNova Desktop Client is a Podcast receiver which seamlessly integrates with the www.podnova.com website. The www.podnova.com website is
a distributed podcast directory. It's maintained by dozens of volunteers from around the world. It features a way to search and subscribe
with one click to podcasts.

The PodNova Desktop Client fetches your subscriptions from your free www.podnova.com account and manages the downloads of the podcasts to
your computer. You can also use the PodNova Desktop Client to add or remove a podcast or to import an opml file with podcasts links.
These mutations are synchronized with your www.podnova.com account.

The PodNova Desktop Client is based on Juice receiver, and is Free Software licensed under the GPL. For details about the license, please
see gpl.txt. The PodNova Desktop Client is written in Python, and we provide a build for Windows, MacOSX and Linux.

Basic Instructions:
-------------------

1. Create a free account on www.podnova.com and search and subscribe to podcasts you like.

2. Start Podnova Desktop Client

3. Set scheduler options

A bit of magic happens when you pick up your MP3 player and fresh content is already there waiting for you. Use PodNova Desktop Client to schedule automatic downloads by entering the times you'd like it to run in the Tools -> Scheduler menu option. First check the box next to "Enable scheduler". If you'd like PodNova Desktop Client to run at specific times, select the "Check at these specific times" radio button and enter the specific times. If you plan to listen to podcasts on your morning commute, you might set PodNova Desktop Client to perform downloads a few hours before you leave. Alternatively, you can set PodNova Desktop Client to run at regular intervals. Select the interval from the "Repeat every" menu. Finally, click "Save and Close" to apply the settings.

4. Walk away

Well, not literally. But do hide or minimize PodNova Desktop Client and forget about it for a while. Based on your scheduler settings, PodNova Desktop Client will check for and download new content and transfer it to your iTunes, Windows Media Player, WinAmp or XMMS player. Of course if you'd like you can check for new podcasts at any time, just be prepared to stare the download progress bar for a bit.

5. Listen!

When you're ready to listen, sync your MP3 player and you're on your way. If you're running Windows and leave your iPod connected, iPodder will automatically sync it after finishing its downloads.
