1.0 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

SocketScan Trigger Software is also available from Bar Code Scanner
Downloads section of the Socket web site as a self-extracting zip
file. The zip file contains this ReadMe File and the software
installer.

2.0 PRODUCT DESCRIPTION & OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

This version of SocketScan Trigger Software v1.0 works with the
Socket In-Hand Scan Card(ISC) family of products in all devices
running on Windows CE v3.0 or higher as well as the Cordless Hand
Scanner on Pocket PC 2003 (Windows Mobile) devices.

2.1 Operation of the Socket In-Hand Scan Cards is based on the
SocketScan software shipped with all scanning products. In order
to trigger the ISC, users typically must assign one of the buttons
on their mobile device to the SocketScan application.

Users occasionally find it inconvenient or even impossible to
assign or use a physical button on the mobile device. This
software provides a virtual trigger button that floats on top of
the active application and can be used as an alternate method of
 triggering the In-Hand Scan Card.

2.2 When launched from the Programs page of your CE device, the
floating trigger button appears on the screen on top of the active
application. The Button may be dragged by the title bar to a
convenient location on the screen. Tapping the Button will activate
the laser in the ISC. NOTE: SocketScan must be active and the ISC,
SDIO ISC or ISC-I must be inserted in the CF or PC Card slot for
 the Button to operate correctly.

2.3 A SocketScan Trigger icon appears on the task bar on the HPC
or at the bottom of the Today screen on the Pocket PC. Tap this
icon to open a pop-up menu with the following options:
2.3.1 Tap "Scan Now" to activate the scanner as if you had tapped
   the floating Button.

2.3.2 Tap "Remove Floating Trigger" to remove the Button from the
screen but keep the icon handy on the task bar. Tapping the icon,
then "Launch Floating Button" adds the button back on the screen.

2.3.3 Tap "Close SocketScan Trigger" to close the application
completely. From this state, the SocketScan trigger can only be
   launched from the Programs page.

3.0 RELEASE NOTES

3.1 The Palm-size PC v2.01 (the first versions of Windows CE
devices) and early Pocket PC and HPC v2.11 are not supported.
Though SocketScan Trigger may install on one of these devices, it
 is not guaranteed to work.

3.2 The application SocketScan Trigger is not compatible with
 SocketScan "Scan Demo" application.

3.3 The application icon on the "Recent apps" toolbar in the Start
Menu on Pocket PC devices is the same as the icon for the SocketScan
 software.

4.0 WINDOWS CE FILE LOCATION

This application consists of two files which are copied into the
following directory:

--OR--

Option 2
To uninstall software on your mobile device while connected to
your Host PC, follow these steps on the Host PC:
  a) Please remove the Socket scanning product from your mobile

being removed from your host PC.

Regardless of which of these two methods you use to uninstall the
SocketScan software, you will be able to re-install the software
on your Windows CE device by simply going back into the Microsoft
ActiveSync, TOOLS, ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS window, then checking the
box for "Socket SocketScan Trigger", then clicking OK.

Option 3
To completely uninstall the software from both your mobile device
