A. Introduction
===============
This is the 8.0M1, the first maintenance release of 8.0. It has been put 
through a full system test and is suitable for deployment to end-users.

DisplayLink Software Release 8.0 delivers the following features:

- Windows 10 Redstone support (tested on build up to 14393)
- DL-6xxx support
- DDC/CI command pass-through support for DL-3xxx devices
- Installer usability improvements 

This release is for Windows 7 and later. Windows XP SP2 and Vista are supported
by earlier versions of the DisplayLink software:

The DL-3xxx,DL-4xxx (where applicable) and DL-5xxx plus
the associated software, is tested to meet the following
compliances at the time of release:
- DisplayPort (source 1.2)
- DisplayPort ++
- USB 2.0

- HDMI (source 1.4a)

This software release contains an embedded firmware image.

- DRIVER_VERIFIER_DETECTED_VIOLATION (c4) blue screen crash during

I. Known Issues and Limitations
===============================
System behaviour with DisplayLink attached screens has been well tested.
Testing covers plug/unplug, mode changes, playing video, hibernate,
sleep/standby, multiple users, different user rights, attached screen as
primary screen, attached screen as only screen, and other aspects.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
