Installation Instructions:

Install Midisport 4.1.16 drivers.
Open Floppy Disk or Folder containing 8x8 Remote Panel update.
Run Setup.exe
Restart Machine when completed.

To access Remote Application:

Click Start
Click Program Files
Click Midiman Applications and select Midisport 8x8 Remote.
SMPTE Functions can be run from here.

If the unit needs to be programmed for stand alone operation,
select the Patchbay tab.
Once the programming of the Remote is complete.
Exit the application. Cycle Power to the Midisport.

How to select Pass Thru Mode:

On the face panel of the 8x8, to the right is a button marked Mode.
Push and hold this button for the LED to increment from to Thru Mode.

Operation of Midisport 8x8 when in Pass-Thru Stand Alone Mode:

Non-intuitive device front panel behavior.
When no USB connection is made with the device, the device is
in Pass Through mode. In this mode, the USB light flashes quick green.
If the MIDI RESET button is held in while in Pass Through mode,
any one of 8 different patchbay configurations can be selected.
Even though the selection has been made using this method, the
new Patchbay settings for a different Patchbay selected in this
manner will NOT be enabled until the device exits and re-enters
Pass Through mode. One way to exit and reenter Pass Through
mode is to cycle device power. Another method is to plug the
device into a USB port and then disconnect it again. Note that
the Patchbay number IS changed successfully using the MIDI RESET
button on the front panel, however the settings corresponding
to that number do not take effect until Pass Through mode is
exited and reentered.
