Install the Santa Cruz card in the PC. 2. Connect your powered speakers, microphone, and any other audio peripherals to the appropriate inputs and outputs on the Santa Cruz. Turn on your PC and allow Windows to boot up. 3. Log in with Administrator privileges to install new hardware. Service Pack 2 and DirectX 8 are recommended (Required for multi-channel analog and digital audio from DVD movies). 4. Windows will automatically have loaded its Crystal SoundFusion drivers. When Windows prompts you to restart, select 'No'. 5. Launch the TBSCruz4161s.exe from where it was saved on your system. 6. Follow the instructions that appear during the install, selecting the options that best match your audio setup. 7. When the installation is complete click 'Finish' and when prompted, reboot the system. Once you have rebooted, the Santa Cruz will be ready for use. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ WINDOWS XP 1. Install the Santa Cruz card in the PC. 2. Connect your powered speakers, microphone, and any other audio peripherals to the appropriate inputs and outputs on the Santa Cruz. 3. Turn on your PC. When Windows has booted for the first time after installing the Santa Cruz hardware in your computer, Windows will report new hardware found. This message box may appear as: 'Sound Fusion' 'Turtle Beach Santa Cruz' or 'Multimedia Audio Controller' select the cancel button on the "New Hardware Found" window to close and return to the Windows desktop. NOTE: You must click on Cancel at this screen to properly install the Santa Cruz. 4. Launch the TBSCruz4161s.exe from where it was saved on your system. 5. Follow the instructions that appear during the install, selecting the options that best match your audio setup. 6. When the installation is complete click 'Finish'. The Santa Cruz will be ready for use. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ WINDOWS MILLENNIUM EDITION * Turtle Beach highly recommends the use of this WDM Driver instead of the VxD driver in Windows Millennium. * DirectX 8: If DX 8 is installed prior to running the Santa Cruz installation, you may get a message that the Santa Cruz setup is trying to install older files into the system; if so, do not overwrite the newer files as they were (most likely) installed by DX8. NOTE: the message box now comes to the forefront when displayed to the user. 1. Install the Santa Cruz card in the PC. 2. Connect your powered speakers, microphone, and any other audio peripherals to the appropriate inputs and outputs on the Santa Cruz. 3. Boot-up the computer. 4. The 'Add New Hardware Wizard' will appear, detecting the Santa Cruz hardware. Click the 'Cancel' button. 5. Browse to the folder where the TBSCruz4161s.exe file is located. Double-click the TBSCruz4161s.exe file to launch the driver installation. 6. After the drivers are unpacked, the InstallShield Wizard will begin. Click the 'Next' button, and follow the InstallShield Wizard prompts. 7. When the drivers are installed, the InstallShield will prompt you to click 'Finish' to complete the installation of the new drivers (when the blue InstallShield background has closed, the drivers have been successfully installed). Reboot the machine if prompted. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ TO UNINSTALL SANTA CRUZ (Win 2k & XP) 1. Open the Windows Control Panel (Start > Settings > Control Panel). 2. Open the Add/Remove Programs applet (Add or Remove Programs in Win XP). Select Turtle Beach Santa Cruz and click on the Change/Remove button. 3. Reboot your PC. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ NOTE ON CD AUDIO INPUT IN WINDOWS XP The manual contains instructions for connecting a CD-Rom or DVD drive to the Santa Cruz. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
